i need to replace the bars with something closer to me with very neutral hand position. has anyone used the WO 513 8 and 1/2 inch bars. The pull back is 11 and 1/2 inches but I am not sure where to measure it from and also wonder if I will have to replace cables?  Thanks Bill

After having gone through six sets of handlebars on two RK Classics, I found the Wild One WO517 which are Road Glide bars work best for my six foot, 225 lb frame.  I did replace cables with longer ones because I wanted braided but I'm told it wasn't entirely necessary.

thanks  but i am only 5 8 with short arms. i have ordered the 513 mini apes that are 8.5 inches  i hope they work.

Are you going to need to replace the cables?  Please post pics when you get them installed.  I had 13" mini apes on my 05 RK classic and loved them.  So far I have left my stock bars on the SERK.

Take a look at the HD Chrome FXDWG Bars, PN 56079-93T $49.95, p.679. I'm 5-9, and have been running them on 3 other RK's since '96. They've been perfect for me. If you don't use risers (stock set-up), you don't have to change cables or brakelines. Not since '03 models, at least (last one I've used them on). Hoist!  8-)

Thanks Hoist  I looked at the bar . They don't have room for the Hydraulic clutch. I was told by wild ones that I should not have to replace cables. i will post pictures when I find out how [smiley=orange.gif]

I just finished installing 12" chubbys WO502's on my RK. I used stock throttle cables and spliced the brake and clutch hydro lines. It worked out great. I think the hand position is much better and allows the bars to pull back to the rider. I'm 5' 7".

do you have any pictures of the bars. i sent back the 8.5 inch bars . they did not come back far enough. i found a builder that will custom make bars to fit me . they will be 1 and 1/2 bars and we will hide the cables inside also. i hope that it will work out. I'll post opictures when finished

Although I am 6'0 and the WO517 are what I like, I think they would work well for a 5'8" frame too.  I like my bars pulled really far back and I like a 10" rise.  Here's a picture of the WO517's on my RKC.  If you want a different angle I can give that to you as well.

I don't have the exact measurement anymore but I'm sure they pull back more than 2".  I'd guess at least 3" and they are a 10" rise if I recall.  You can check the Wild One web site and it will give dimensions and a comparison photo of stock vs these on a RKC.  I'll attach pictures showing a couple of more angles for you.
