Very nice rag top vette with a big block. I am sure that car is plenty capable of landing you in Jail.

JQ,

Thinking about 2017 looking at trading the C7 for a new ZO6 coupe.  Would be manual like my 14, love the seven speed.

In Oct I took the 3 day Ron Fellows performace driving school in a C7.  Most fun I have ever had with my clothes on.  On the 2.25 mile track the C7 was quicker laps than the last year ZR1.  The ZR1 would catch up on the long straight but on the 12 turns the C7 would pull away quickly, so much so after 10 laps the C7 was trying to pass the ZR1 on the long straight but could not.
I can only imagine how the new Z06 would be as it has even better handling.

My wife got a call from her 89 yr old mother a couple of years ago that she had a flat tire and needed help.

We go over to help and sure enough in the parking lot she had a flat and a broken wheel. I asked what she hit and her reply was "nothing".  looking around I saw body molding and debris across the lot. Sure enough she went parking "island" hopping and left the underside of her car there.

She was a stubborn German, so taking the car away was not an option unless you wanted to experience that wrath.

At 91 she still has her car sitting in the driveway that will not start, do my disconnecting the battery. She still thinks she can drive, but we have the comfort knowing she is not going anywhere.

PS after not driving for 6 months it is no longer an issue, but I better not take that car.

Here is where I net out on this issue:
When a person is endangering the lives of others, then as a matter of conscious you must step in. When you lose your physical and/or mental faculties and can no longer operate a vehicle safely, it's time to hang up the keys.
It's tough when it's your parents. I get that. But let me change the argument a bit. What if your 18 year old son or daughter was hit head on by an elderly driver? What if they were killed? How would you feel about the person who wouldn't take the keys away in that instance?
That clears up the argument for me.
