I am a newbie too.

Just visited your beautiful country-I have a lot of relatives in Canterbury.

Tight Highway driving there! Crown Range, Haast Pass and Arthur Pass looking forward to doing them on a bike next time.

I did not have a lot of time (and the weather was not really warm yet-there in October) so rented a car next time it will be on a bike for sure with an extra 30 days to really enjoy it.

Welcome from the Tar Heel state. New Zealand is on my bucket list and hope to get it off soon. By the way once you go to the 124 you will never come back.
