What options
« on: January 26, 2015, 07:47:12 PM »

Hey all,

Been trolling here for a week or so.  Great forum and love seeing all of the pics.  Got my Cobalt CVO BO in Oct '14 and live on WI, so I have all winter to think about projects.  The license plate bracket is next on list.  Seems like there's 3 common options:
    Kuryakyn Curved Vertical mount
    Cycle Visions In close
    Turning stock plate/mount vertical

I'm leaning towards turning mine to start but do like the looks of the Kuryakyn.
Was wondering if anyone has had luck with th fabricating something for the fender?

Any other options I'm missing?

Hi IHaveBO,

Look at my earlier post.

First one looks great but is expensive so I've install the 2009 V-rod muscle plate holder.

I hope it helps.

I have a swingarm saddlebag on mine so the Kuryakin plate won't work. If anyone knows of a vertical plate holder that doesn't attach to the swingarm, please let us know.

Here's one I'm working on... a few more minor details and it should be good to go....

That's pretty cool. For those of us who don't have your excellent skills, here is another option from Drag Specialties. Comes in vertical or horizontal: http://www.dragspecialties.com/products/?productId=243212

Not sure the direction I will go yet either, turning the plate vertical helped a lot.
