AJ,

I made reference to your repeated failures when I spoke to both Ola and John. You calling in and closing the loop sounds like a good plan.

Chief, after talking to you at the dinner Friday evening I went to the town hall meeting on Saturday and got the same response from Gary - not heard of leaking head gasket on 110s until you brought it up Friday.  Anyway, I had spoken to Rusty Dwyer in early July as they were repairing bike from first gasket leak.  Not spoken to him this go round but did leave him voice mails and emails and he said they would take care of my concerns and put tech services in contact with my SM which they did.

First failure occurred at about 7k and repaired at 9k.  Second failure occurred during road trip and estimate mileage about 13k or 14k.  Second fix done at 17k.

1,200 miles on second fix and got my fingers crossed.

Thaks Jerry. Just getting all of this information in one spot will make it easier to track. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, and everyone else battling this problem.

VIN:Y955056 FLHTCUSE
Delivered:  1-08-2007

Phoned HD:  8-28-07
Customer Service Person:  Debbie

5-26 in shop for rocker box clearancing and new push rods.  In shop 2 1/2 weeks  2883 miles
7-14 in shop for oil leakage.  Was told it was the base gasket.  Talked to the tech today, explaining what was happening with the 110's and the head gaskets leaking.  Said it made sense to him.  Did not know there was a revised head gasket.  Said he would push to have both of them replaced.  5346 miles

Still there

Did they pick up yet?

Thanks for the info John. Hopefully they have weekly meetings and we're bringing enough attention to this to get some notice. The percentage of affected CVO's should be making a whole lot of alarms go off.

'07 FXD DYNA SE 110 kit installed at 1100 miles. started leaking at the base of both front and rear cylinders 600 miles after kit installed.
They replaced both o-rings and cemented base of jugs. 500 miles had no leaks yet.
Called Harley today at phone # listed and was on hold all through my 1/2 lunch break (I could have been out riding).
I will call again in the morning and let my voice (leak)  :o  :orange:be heard.

This is the first non-bagger with a problem. I don't know if it not being a factory 110 is a factor, but I'd still call it in. Try hitting '0' to get to an operator and ask for Ola. That way, you don't have to ruin another lunch break. She probably won't be able to take your call right off, but she'll call you back.

Good luck,

SERK3 delivered 1/07. Leaky head gasket spotted by Chief while I was on a road trip in May, 07. After 6 weeks of getting screwed around by the dealer I bought it from, I went to another dealer, who has a good engine guy. Made a few minor improvements and put it all back together. 2000 miles on new top end. So far, so good. Had a good experience with this dealer. So for now, I'll leave my fate in their hands! But you know I'll be keeping an eye on everything! ;)

SE Ultra. Took delivery late Sept last year.

At 11,000 miles they replaced the cylinders, pistons and gaskets for a rear cylinder oil leak.
At 29,000 miles, oil leak started again
At 31,000 miles, (yesterday) I took it in to a different shop to have new cylinders honed and replaced along with the heads. Mechanic thinks it is the heads being warped. Bike is not tore down as of today.

I have met with the regional customer service rep for the MOCO and also spoke with the MOCO customer service rep twice to document my problems.

I also have fast idle and slow idle (bike dies) problems.

Bike is stock except for SEAC/SERT/True duals.

Spoke to John today (while the power was out ::)). Told him of my 'weeping' and ACR problems and that I would keep an eye on them until after Hot Springs.

Gotta love them squeaky wheels. I was in contact with HD Cust SErv again yesterday, while you were talking to John, trying to get them to do what they promised. The SM at my dealer was supposed to get in contact with the head cheese, but instead only got to talk to someone else. There was some confusion about gasket sets, because the parts book is wrong.

I was told today that Mr. Head Honcho would be calling the SM this morning. Time will tell.

Last six digits of VIN     951066
Color                         candy Cobalt
Date of Purchase       August '06
Date of Delivery         August '06
Location                   North East, PA

Left voice mail for Rusty: 9/02/07 No call as of 9/6/08

Head Gaskets renewed 6/25/07 approx 6500 miles.
Head Gaskets leaking again during 8000 mile trip. (Started leaking at approx. 12000 miles on 07A gaskets)
Front cylinder excessive valve train noise(Boxes clearances 6-25)

Filled Claim 9/6/07 No action just get to dealer and have repaired. Made it clear I did not just want another set of head gasket to leak again in 6,000 miles. I think she will ride until winter or until it blows then they will have to repair.:soapbox:

Dealer contacted Troy regional Service Rep he has also started service ticket but no reaction.

The bike goes into the shop 9/18/07 to tear into it. HD Tech Dept wants to evaluate the valve train noise. I talked with shop about checking crankshaft run out. The bike really vibrates at 2400 RPM like riding in a blender and does not want to accelerate unless you give alot of gas.I sure it will be checked.

The rear headgasket leak is 10 times worse this time. It is spraying oil onto the left saddlebag. Bike now has 19,020 miles.

The shop said something like cylinder issues: Info from their call HD Tech Line.
Liner Slipping/Shifting?????
Wavy tops on cylinders.

Only worry is items on National Backorder, like pistons.

9/20/07
Crank Runout checked ok.

Front and Rear cylinders out of Spec.
Rear Head Valve guide seal came loose turning valve into oil pump. Piston trashed do to additional oil. Head at a minimum will require a valve job. (I asked for a new Head)

Waiting on Tech Service decide what to replace and repair!  :nixweiss:

9/21/07 Harley approved: new cylinders, pistons, headgaskets and rings. New seals and valve job on rear head. Should be together early next week.
