sx vs cx
« on: February 28, 2008, 12:32:28 PM »

If the cx speakers are better than the sx, is hawg wired coming out with a better speaker than the sx or are those of us who would like better sound but are not planning on changing to a new amplifier going to just have to settle for the sx speakers?  Or do some other people have an opinion on other brands such as hog tunes or j&m's?  I have read all the threads and was all set to go with the hawg tunes but when I read that the sx were not as good as cx it kind of threw a wrench into the works. :confused5:

If you are going with HawgWired, do it right the first time and get their best (CX)..

Mine is an 05 and I originally had the Hog Tunes which are much better than stock but not as good as the HawgWired CX in sound quality.

PMessage Hd-dude and he will help answer your questions and can sell you the HWired at 10% off list.

The CX and SX are very similar speakers. The SX has a slightly smaller magnet and the big difference is the cx is a true "component" speaker whereas the sx is a coaxial. The CX uses an external 12db per octive x-over so the speaker is a bit cleaner and crisper. At this time Hawg-wired is working on additional speakers but they will not be better than the SX.

I hope this answers your questions. If not let me know. You can give me a call to discuss if you like.

As long as we are on the subject of speakers - Jim - didn't you post a pic of red grills here?

I think they were a HW item, how much?

Not red grilles but black mesh steel grilles that you can see the hawg-wired red speakers cones through. I did a search and could not find the old pics so i just snapped a couple.

Too funny Gary. I actually don't mind giving the bike a good detailing. I just have not had the time to give it the love it deserves. I didn't realy notice it was that dirty but the dust and such sure does show up well in the pics >:(

You could always move out west, The shop space next to mine is availible. I can see it now "Firedood's" bike detailing! 8)

I was just getting ready to post some snide comment, but you beat me to it  :nixweiss:

But it is a red bike, so it is ok.

You need to remove the speaker, remove the fabric grilles by peeling them off the speaker mount. The new grilles go between the speaker mount and the inner fairing.

Cost = $21.95 less 10 %
