New updated;
October 29 will be round three with the Audiologist to get the Global Frequency map adjusted for optimal tonal quality and speech understanding.
Then...... I get to see the surgeon that did the implant, I think the darn thing moved under my skin while sleeping. The receiver is a magnetic coupling device with a rf link that receives its' power and audio information from the outside DSP( a microcomputer with algorithms that controls everything). i don't think this will be my last session for a while. There will be more sessions.
For the Tech buffs;
The DSP will control and give the exciting energy to 7 electrodes in the Cochlea in 7 known frequency sections of the Cochlea.
The Frequency range of the DSP, I've been told, is 150 Hz to 8.5 Khz. I think I have heard a Higher piercing tone, 10 Khz?
maybe?
The input source is a controlled microphone in the forward part of the ear ornament. So is the driving amplifier to give loudness or softness to the hearing. This is done with a smart remote.
As I learn more, I will pass it on.
