I had John Golden with Rolling Thunder Dyno re-tune my bike with the Power commander. At 5,000 RPM's the HP and TQ numbers hit a brick wall and drop to the floor. Seems the clutch is slipping. Not that I go to 5,000 RPM's often, but,...well you know. I ordered a variable pressure clutch Monday. I'm hoping it will be in before Friday. They say even a monkey can install it. I'm hoping I can this weekend. I suppose this is the weak link scenario. Does this mean next the belt will break or the tranny goes out? Do ya'll ever feel like a puppy chasing it's tail?

Very true - I installed a Tamachi VPC when I did the motor rebuild.  It was very simple - piece of cake...  :2vrolijk_21:

I have an appointment for a dyno tune with John and Sandy this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. - at the 105th in Milwaukee (actually in West Bend, WI where John is set up for the weekend....)

Ken,

I would suggest having someone look at your clutch disks before you just throw the aim product on top of it.    at lower speeds the ami slips a little until the weights are fully in place and if your disks have a lot of wear / scortching on them you may continue to have some issues.   You may want to just put in new disks while you add the aim product if they are needing it.   Just something to consider.

Harry,

I know lots of folks that have used the AMI Tamachi VPC for a long time and have never heard that before...  Did you experience this?  Why do you think this?

Henry was here this weekend, and we installed the VPC. They say even a monkey can do it. We got it installed, but, we were scratching our heads a bit. It's pretty simple, but, it works. Before installing it, the clutch would slip at 5,000 RPMs and up. Now it doesn't. Before, the speedo would be climbing fast, but, feel like you hit a brick wall at 115. It was the clutch slipping. At 122 MPH it was still climbing fast, but, that's when I hit the high speed wobble I've read about. I let off the accelator and it didn't stop wobbling until it coasted down to 90 MPH. Trust me here...High speed wobbles SUCK.
