Of course not.  At least not if you promise to let a friend take it for a little spin.  I'll trade ya rides one day.

I'm always open to swapping bikes for a while.  I really do enjoy riding a different ride on occasion...I'm actually looking forward to the release of the Triumph 1600 twin...THAT should be a fun ride!!  And they promise it in some kind of touring option package as well.  A 1600 parallel twin should be interesting, and FUN!  The K1200GT is a rocket ship, but you've got to wind it up too much for my taste.

I'll be on something, I hope, by this time next year.

Hell, if it's a cage, he can drive to Charlotte and ride one of the bikes to M/V.
Mr Spiderman is sorta up in the air and we may have a bike or two available!

... Now the nearest Victory dealership is about 65 miles away.  That's the problem with Victory around here.  Just not enough dealerships around.

Colonial Heights to F'Burg is 85 miles, but we are just around the corner, if'n you were thinking about kicking tires.  I think the Victory line up has a lot to pay attention to.  I, personally, am not in the market, but for those that are, I would not strike through this line up just to be loyal to a company who has proven they are not loyal to their customer base.

The problem I have right now is getting the time off work...I can barely get two days in a row these days.  I'll have to wait and see, but there's a chance we might run up for Saturday afternoon/night, but it'll be in the cage for sure.

The Vision is definitely on the list of bikes to ride/buy when the time comes.  I've got a year to figure it out, so lots of time for research.

Terry,

Victory usually has a lot of bikes at Daytona (Biketoberfest/Bike Week) and have test rides at the Speedway.  Since you have a year or so to figure out what you want to do, thought that might be an option.  Many other manufacturers also have bikes there & offer test rides.  More than a few friends have spent a day or so there & made a decision as to which bike.  Some got to take more extended rides when reps found out they were serious about buying.

Figured you knew about this already, but wanted to offer an option that lets you compare bike to bike, in real time, instead of the way I did it - a ride here & a ride there a few weeks apart then scratching my head & saying "huh?"

Best of luck & the hunt will be fun.

Mike

Terry, in the wind is in the wind. But I didn't know ya liked softails. I thought all Victory's were softails. Prefer a bike with a conventional swingarm myself. I think if I ever abandoned HD, I'd have a bike built instead. Still be an A/C V-Twin though. ;)

Howie...not exactly a softail, I don't think.  More like a Duc type suspension, but then I've not seen one naked either.  Nothing wrong with a mono shock, if it's done right  ;)  One thing that appeals to me about the Victory is it's air cooled, but has overhead cams to get the revs up quickly....much like the V in throttle response, at least sitting on the showroom floor.  Much to read and research before I am able to do anything, but if I ain't dead by then, I'll have two wheels under my a$$ again, no matter the brand.

I told him at least it is orange and black...but to stop revving it at stop lights....it sounds stupid...

That's FUNNY!  Admit it, one of the things we all like best about HD's is their sound.  They even tried to trade mark it several years ago.

I've test driven a couple of King Pin Victory models just for kicks and I came away impressed. They are definitely solid bikes, no shame in owning one of those.

Generally speaking most Victory dealerships will allow test rides if you call in advance and let them know you're interested in test driving a bike. One of the BIG differences I noticed between Harley and Victory.

With that said, they're still not Harleys but they are damn good bikes.
