There are signs that the MoCo is getting serious about fixing all the 110 problems. In other threads people talk about head replacements, head gaskets, base gaskets, and ACRs. I am getting my bike's head gaskets done right now and the service manager told me HD just sent him a bulletin about the replacing the ACRs.

I would think that the 09 will have all this stuff installed from the factory so head gasket oil leaks could be history, (keeping my fingers crossed).

Most of us who have a 110 motor have so much fun riding them that if asked most of us would buy one again.

Still plenty of those original SERGs out there for the taking.  Just gotta look around (and be patient for the right one)! :2vrolijk_21:

Exactly!

I would think the 09 SERG3 will be priced somewhere between 32K to 35K and with 00 and 01's going for between 10K to 20K the older ones will be considered a bargain. Well except for mine, 75K is the price and I'm keeping it till I get it.
(unless I can get 80)

 :2vrolijk_21:

Chip, interest in the classic original (we don't say "old") SERGs will be reinvigorated by a new model.  That means our classics will get more valuable.  You better jack it up to 90k.

I have a 110 - had the dreaded head gasket problem - fixed it and moved on...  I would buy another.  Like TwoLane said, the more recent 110's seem to be more reliable.  And if not, it is not a mystery as to how to fix the problem.  It's not likely I would leave the motor alone anyway - problem or not.

I fully agree!

Ride safely,

Patience is cheaper :huepfenlol2: .

Not in my case. ::)  I "patiently" watched what is now my bike sit in the most prominent position in the used bike row at the dealer for 3 months, with its fairing eagle taunting me each time I went for an oil filter, piece of chrome, etc.  Then I had to go down to Hot Springs and see Hobo's and Scooterhair's blue SERGs and be mentally abused some more.  By the time I got back home that Sunday, the only "patience" I could muster was waiting for the dealership to open on Monday. :o

I remember that.  It was grueling.  But hey, I waited and watched for 9 years then scored all at once on a Saturday morning.  That worked too.

I guess I better find some wood and start pounding on it cause....

I've had a 110" for over a year now and haven't had the slightest hint of a problem.

My cruise control did hit the fritz but I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with the engine displacement.
