headpan, I also feel pulled two ways on this. I've been hoping for another SERG ever since missing out on the original, and now that the MoCo has gotten around to offering one, I'm so turned off by Harley's lousy quality and customer service that I really can't see me buying one. And it's not just the 110 issues, it's all the various quality issues that people have had and are having with Harley's in general. I could probably deal with it if I were still a youngster, but I no longer have any tolerance for breakdowns or constantly having to take something back for warranty repairs. And I refuse to just say FTW and pay to fix all the various defective crap myself. Been there, done that, and the MoCo just keeps on sticking it to us rather than fix the problems at the source.
I've finally learned, after a half century of being a hard head, to "never say never". So I can't say with certainty that I won't eventually cave in and buy one, but I can say that the odds are really slim. Unless of course I happen to hit the lotto, in which case I'll probably buy two so I can still ride while one is in the shop.
Jerry
Jerry, sounds like you may want to buy a Gold Wing or BMW K1200LT, smooth and reliable
but no fun and no soul, plus nobody will even looks twice at a wing just to Blah!!!
I do understand the problem, you buy the Harley then you have to fix the Harley to
handle good, to run good, and to look good. All this would be ok if you were buying a
8 or 9 thousand bike, but a 30 thousand dollar bike should be better than what we
are getting.
