Mine completely locks up. I have to unplug it from the harness in the saddlebag and re-plug it. I've tried my iphone, my nano that came with the bike, and my 2nd gen 80gb ipod classic. All do the same thing. It's not an everytime issue but once it happens I have to unplug it to get it to work again. The radio just shows ---- as the track and ---- as the artist....pisses me off to no end. As other said I have to pull over to get tunes working again...

 :confused5:
I have been able to get mine going again by changing the settings - like from shuffle to genre, etc, etc, and changing song selections via the handle bar switch.  Sometimes it will eventually start up.  But this is a pos situation and I do not like futtzing with it while riding.  I am sure H-D, H K and Apple will stand in a circle pointing fingers at each other and blaming anyone but themselves for the problem.  Meanwhile we are once again stuck with a pricey 'improvement' that does not work as advertised.

Hey,

Try this....I have electrical tape around mine cuz i have it inside the fairing behind the headlight.  I don't plan on or want to mess with it so I made sure it was SECURE!  That may be the key, the vibration may be causing a loose connection from the interface to the Ipod?

As annoying and frustrating this issue has become, :zHole:  this thread almost feels like going to therapy or a group session. You are not alone! But, is there hope?  :wall:

Don't know if this will help anyone or not but...

I run an iPod Touch (haven't used the Nano that comes with my '11 SESG) and had the same freeze-up problems.  I found that, for me, the problem goes away when I put my Touch into the music mode (a.k.a. Now Playing screen showing the current song and play/pause icons) within the playlist I want to play, plug it into the iPod harness and go ride.  If you plug the iPod into the harness with the radio on and iPod mode selected in the HK head unit, the iPod screen should change to indicate it is in accessory mode and cannot be controlled with iPod controls.  Starts back up every time on the last song played in a particular playlist after shutting the bike down for a few mins (like at the gas pump).  Something curious though...my songs are shuffled within the playlists even though I don't have "Shuffle" selected on the HK radio face.

If I plug in the Touch in any other mode (like the startup home screen with app icons, or any other mode), it freezes as many have described above.

Hope this helps...

Dave
