I don't always care how clean my bike is .  But I do care how good I can ride …  Here is a picture of me with the Michigan State Champion Trophy from the riding skills competition at the state HOG rally this year.

I DONT CARE that:

1. Some people like Sharks, while others like Batwings.
2. Some people prefer to trailer, while others prefer to ride everywhere, no matter how far.
3. Some people like to pile on the miles, while others prefer to ride many less miles.
4. Some people prefer to trade often, while others prefer to keep the same bike a long time.
5. Some people like to work on their own bikes, while others take theirs to a dealer for service.

Because not a single ONE of these things affect me in any way, and everyone has a right to do what they want. It's their money and time, not mine.

It doesn't mean that I don't enjoy reading about all some of these things, though!   

But what I DON'T UNDERSTAND is:

1. Why anyone would buy a new Harley without buying the ESP, if you ride more than a little and keep your bike past the 2-year warranty period.
2. Why anyone would mess around with so-called "auto tune" devices - instead of just getting a proper tune, with a proper tuning device, from someone who knows how to use it, from the outset... because a great tune involves a LOT more than just recording VE data.
3. Why the MoCo hasn't been able to deliver a decent compensator since 2006.
4. Why MY bike has the most f**ed-up, one-off wiring harness in the history of... FOREVER.

AND (wait for it)...




5. Why anyone would buy a Harley that isn't at least partially blue ORANGE!

1. Why anyone would buy a new Harley without buying the ESP, if you ride more than a little and keep your bike past the 2-year warranty period. Ken, Harley Davidson of Charlotte is the best dealer in my world. They told me I didn't need the ESP, and so far they have been right.  My two 110's are way past the two year warranty period but my dealer has always been true to their word so I believe they will take care of my 11.5 or 12 if needed. I am a very lucky man to have a dealer like this.
2. Why anyone would mess around with so-called "auto tune" devices - instead of just getting a proper tune, with a proper tuning device, from someone who knows how to use it, from the outset... because a great tune involves a LOT more than just recording VE data. The reasons are, they don't know any better, they have more money than they have sense or they are not smart enough to  research what the best products are.
3. Why the MoCo hasn't been able to deliver a decent compensator since 2006. Because they don't have to. People will just buy a 15 or 16 or 17. BTW, that other blue bike I have doesn't have that issue.
4. Why MY bike has the most f**ed-up, one-off wiring harness in the history of... FOREVER. It's you Ken, the rest of them are fine.

This response is easy Ken, anything other than those colors are just stepping stones to either Blue or Orange.

Yes, you are indeed quite fortunate to have a dealer you can wholly trust. I don't trust the dealers near me to do much of anything right, which is why Honey Badger never sees the inside of a dealer service dept.

Sad that the MoCo doesn't feel the need to engineer a decent comp, but a lot of people do trade every couple of years, so they never need to be concerned about it. It's us guys who keep our bikes that have to deal with it... 

And yeah, it's probably just me and my crazy-azz wiring harness... all of the others probably ARE just fine! I think they did it just to piss me off... but I outsmarted them by tying my NIM, 665, and other things directly into the right wires.

We have an accord regarding BLUE and ORANGE! I glad to see the MoCo finally figured out that combining these two excellent colors on the '15 SESG would be the best of both worlds. But, I would like to have seen the main body Molten Lava, with ULTRAVIOLET BLUE flames. That would be KILLER in the sunshine!

Oh well, can't have everything...

Yeah, I'm sure he could, Howard! But Honey Badger will never be getting a color makeover.

Although, it would be cool have Joe do up a KlockWorks Slicer front fender, and maybe have him put some Hot Citrus on the tops of the lowers to echo the rest of the bike's color scheme someday.

There was one pic on the Harley site in 2012 that had some yellow on the top of the lowers on a Hot Citrus bike, but it never made it to production. Looked really good though!
