Xenonlink installation...
« on: September 15, 2008, 05:31:38 AM »

I've received my H4 Bi-Xenon 6000K Motorcycle HID Kit.
In the box, it's perfect...
When you prepare the installation, some requests arrive !
I've send a mail to Xenonlink and I wait the replies :

1) In the box, I've a hardness with a bi-xenon controller. It was not mentionned on the website page : http://www.xenonlink.com/product_info.php?products_id=90 but they speak about a relay wire hardness (not in my box) .
I wait the reply.

2) On this delivered hardness, I've one wire for connection to the battery, other to the ground, two wires to ballasts for lamps 1 and 2 (but in my kit I've one ballast and it's normal because I've one high/low Lamp) and one other wire (with a connector and three pins).
Where this last connector with three pins is connected ? (see pic)
I wait the reply.

3) they are no end caps for the connectors of the second wire to ballast (unuseable on my bike) ?

I've read this link but I've not seen my connector with three pins : http://www.hid-light.com/install/install.html

I'll inform you and I'll put pics of the installation.

The three pin connector plugs into your OEM connector that use to plug into the headlamp.

I had and use no relay in my twin headlight assembly.

Ok, I plug the three pins connector into the plug's headlamp

That means the controller is fixed near the headlamp (lenght of the wire for the tree pins connector) but the wire connected to the battery from the controller is not enough long to go to the battery.

Sure, I understand not something !

I think my wire is fine for a car with a battery and 2 headlamps in the same place but on a bike it's different with the headlamp in front of and the battery under the seat.

I've the option : 2 headlamps for the same price !  ::) , but I know not where I'll put the second headlamp on my fairing..... :nixweiss:

I did not run the power wire to my battery. With my SERG there was a hot and ground wire already in the wiring harness that is not used. It is for the Euro bikes with the little light between the headlights. I cut/spliced/extended nothing.

I see you ordered a Bi-Xenon kit which is a hi and low beam all in one bulb (I think). Don't the new bikes run seperate bulbs for hi and low?

Thanks, I'll look for a free hot and ground wire in my fairing.  :2vrolijk_21:
All will be put in the fairing. It'll be not necessary to dismount my tank or my seat.

The HDI models have not the dual lamps in the headlamp.
We've one bubble for high and low beams (H4).
I think it's only a problem of add cost with the dual because  the japanese sport bikes have two headlamps and separate bulbs.

Nothing replace the experience, Thanks !

I received my second order of three sets of Bi-Xenon HID's. Now I have to get motivated and install them in the various vehicles. ::) :)

bisounours, the SERG has a power/ground connector that is used for the international daytime running lights that is unused for the American versions.  If you follow your headlight harness down from where it connects to the bulb toward the bike you will see two wires tied up about mid-way down.  One is typically covered with a cap.  That one is +12vdc.  The other is ground.  They are on when the ignition is on, so you can use these as a power source.  You can connect to them using a standard spade connection.  You will not have to modify any factory wiring.

I installed HID lights on my bike form Xeonlink as well, but I decided to go with the 9005 version (http://www.xenonlink.com/product_info.php?cPath=34_57&products_id=78) instead of the bi-xenon.  I like the fact that bi-xenon is xenon all of the time, but in realty you don't need high-beams when you have HID low.  The reason I did this is for redundancy.  If the xenon bulb goes out you can run with the high-beams and have both bulbs.  The highs also change the color to normal (sometimes the xenon is actually too bright).

Here's one after I installed xenon lights.  They shed so much light that my camera had more light available to expose the pic.  The instrument panel came out brighter.  This was taken in the same location...

On one of my bikes I run The HID in the HI beem spot and I left the Low beem a standard halogen bulb. This way when I'm following someone I can run the low beem and not blind them. (It sure is dark with a halogen bulb  ;) )

I've read this link but I've not seen my connector with three pins : http://www.hid-light.com/install/install.html

Reply from Xenonlink :

The diagram is correct.   You only use 1 of the connectors on the wire-relay
to connect to your ballast.

You leave 1 side the wire-relay entirely unused.

The PDF that we shown is a stand bi-xenon but the H4 bi-xenon wiring is exactly the same setup.

If you have issue lighting up the lights, you will need to change the polarity of the light.

Here is additional PDF for information.

I've more answers with the brothers on this site !  ;)

Good day ! I discover the internal of my fairing !
I start the mounting of my Xenonlink system and at the end, I'll put a Clearview shield.

First question :
In my headlamp, I've this cap (pic)
It's possible to put the HID lamp with or without this.

Is it stay with the HID lamp ?

Adaptation :

The waterproof cap of the original lamp goes not on the HID lamp...
Not the same diameters :
original lamp : 0,787 inch
HID lamp : 1,18 inch

Not enough extensible, I need to cut....

bisounours, the SERG has a power/ground connector that is used for the international daytime running lights that is unused for the American versions.

Concerning the power/ground connectors on SERG, they are used on my bike, it's an International model (CUSE3).
But I think to pick +12vdc and ground on the same wire or on the cigar lighter.

Great stuff!!  I have a neophyte question...  I contacted Xenonlink about a kit for the SERG 3 and received this reply:

"First, we will need you to verify is what is the replacement halogen bulb size on your bike.
There is two possible bulb size from the factory listing so we are not sure which one to match it for you.
Let us know the current bulb size and we will match a HID conversion kit for you."

Can someone help me with the bulb size for the SERG 3?  Thanks in advance!!

Thanks TN!  9003 or HB2 is the number on the HD box for the replacement part so you hit it on the head.  Your link went to the 8000 item.  But you prefer the 6000.  May I ask why?  Curious....

So, I've tested the installation but no light on the HID lamp !!!!

I've tested all connections and I've not +12v on the power connector from the bixenon controller to the ballast

I've tested all others wires and its OK : +12v or ground are fine.

Now, I wait the reply from Xenonlink about this problem  8)

Last news :

My Bi-xenon controller is out.
No problem, Xenonlink send me another......
It'll arrive in next days.

For those with Bi-xenon lamp :
Do you have this problem : see attached pic
The mobile part and the bubble are not right !  :(
The focus point for high/low beam is very important and with this default, I've doubt about the efficiency and the adjustement of my lights.

Please, look yours and let me know !

Thanks

Answer from Xenonlink about the lamp :

From the picture that you send us, the bulb looks fine in the positions.

They are control by a switch inside so sometimes it may not closed stright.

Wait (the new controller ballast) and See .......
