I just might, but I gonna have to wait until I get a little set a side for the little guy's college fund. I'm still looking into a tuner or just getting it re-dynoed. As well as some other "make it your own" additions. I cringe at the fact of running the bike so hard for a dyno. Let alone the fact anytime you change anything it will have to be dynoed again.

Topper,

I know what you mean. According to my dyno chart they were doing pulls up to about 6500rpm. I am glad I wasn't there for that because I would have been totally freaked out. When they called me to tell me the bike was ready, I asked them if the engine had blown up and the HD service guy said he hadn't heard any explosions from the dyno area that day .... we both laughed.

A Little Update! Its been about a month since I picked up my FLHTCUSE converted to a 107CI and I am really enjoying the modifications. I haven't been able to ride as much as I would like to, but when I do it is a totally different experience. The power difference is amazing. The only change I would make down the road would be to a D&D 2 into 1 Fatcat with a "quiet baffle" which would probably give me a little higher numbers, but would definitely shift the torque left hitting over 100 ft/lbs of torque at about 2200-2300 rpms instead of 3200 rpms. The only problem with that is another $600 - $675 for the Fatcat and about $270 - $360 for another SERT Dyno Tune. If I do that now, Moma will go berserk! I will hold off and see, maybe in the future.

However, if anyone is interested in a set of Rinehart True Duals (Chrome) in perfect condition (no scratches) with performance baffles, fitting 1995 to 2006 FL message me. They sell for $999.95, will sell for $650. A sale might expedite my ability to make the change. Just Sayin'

Just curious how much the 107" conversion costs??

I have a stock 103"  2006 seultra  with stage 1 done.   vance and hines exhaust with power commander.  i bought the bike used with 2500 miles and the bike was dynoed.  The previous owner gave me the print out which showed 98 horspower and 100 ft pounds of tourqe if i remember correctly.  it sounds high to me.. for only a stage 1.  I will check the dyno sheet tonight to check.

More power is good!!!

Does sound high, check if it is SAE Corrected Dyno Chart, and also Dyno numbers can be manipulated. Most 103CI Stage 1 motors I have seen are about 78-85HP & 82-90TRQ.

If you decide to do the build:

Discuss weight of bike, type of riding (1-up, 2-up) mountains, altitude, where you want your torque, etc..... with whoever does your build.

Then have your crank runout checked, if within spec then no bottom end work needed!

Even if crank is within spec I would go with the hydraulic cam conversion with new cams (Andrews or Woods conversion kits and cams are good) as opposed to gear drive, lifters and cam bearings, headwork (Street Port or Stage 2), boring your cylinders to 3.938" with 3.938" overbore pistons (gets you 107CI with your 4.375" current stroker crank), possibly higher flow injectors with stock throttle body, and a good Dyno Tune. Now to answer your question, figure about $3500 - $4000 including all parts and labor from an independent shop. I see you are from Long Island, NY (I grew up in Queens). You might want to call Hillside Cycles and talk to them about the upgrade, they are a very good independent shop and have a good reputation. I would go with their total package recommendation so that everything works together as it should. They will port your heads as well! You can use my suggestions as a guide to discuss with them, but again go with their complete package.

They are in Munnsville, NY   http://www.hillsidecycle.com/

Tom 149 and Electra88,

103's with CVO heads tuned correctly with true duals, stage 1 air filter, and SERT were making 98 torque / 94 horsepower + / - a couple all day long depending on environment (weather and where dyno is) with 250i dyno.  I have done 3 of these my 04, 05 and the 2nd 05 and all were with in 1 torque and 1 hp of each other at sea level.   If you have gotten much less my suggestion would be to find a better tuner.

Electra88 I would say your numbers are in line.

Unbalanced,

Those are some nice numbers for all three motors, and I went back and looked at some of the dyno charts posted and I see your point. Unfortunately, my Stage 1 (Rinehart TD's and SE/AC) 103CI dynoed with my SERT here at 5280 altitude (Denver) at 78PWR and 83TRQ recently before my 107CI build. Two other previous dyno-SERT tunes resulted in very similar numbers on two different dynos. All together, three different Dynos, three different technicians, similar low numbers. Very puzzling to me, maybe a wet sumping problem, who knows.
Now with the 107CI conversion completed I'm at 104PWR and 112TRQ, feels like it should have from the very beginning.

Alright guys, you have me searching for a tuner to dyno my bike now.  I spoke to a guy at a dealership about 25 miles away and he said it would be around $300.00 for the dyno and if I wanted or needed to make any changes after the dyno he would charge me hourly. Which he said is not near as much as another dyno.  I am leaning this way now.  :nixweiss:

I think that this will be a great jumping off point for me and any future projects.

Tom,

Was this dyno run taken on the first post done in 4th or 5th gear?

Comparing what said you had vs. what you have it is a huge improvement and hope you have good luck with it.

My only concern would be that the low end is a bit lower than I would want with a bagger.  I ride mostly 2300 - 3500 unless playing and that is where i want the power.  You don't show 100 torque until 3300 rpm and that is a bit later than I would like.  A 2 into 1 might help bring up that lower end for ya.

Topper,

Sounds great! I like the flat rate concept. Can you find out what dyno he uses, is he comfortable using the SERT .... etc. Does he tune each cylinder separately? Will you have the Rinehart TD's installed and a high flow air cleaner before the tune? You might want to look at this posting:

Unbalanced,

I believe it was a 5th gear pull with my five speed transmission (1:1 ratio), but not 100% sure.

I spoke to Rinehart Tech today and we believe that if I go from my current "performance baffles" (least restrictive) to their "quiet baffles" (most restrictive) I would hit the 100ft/lb torque at about 2600 rpm which would be a nice improvement that I could live with. I think I will try that first (with a retune) because I like the look and sound of the Rinehart TD's and I can get the baffles through Dennis Kirk for about $94.00 as opposed to about $600.00 for a D&D 2:1 Fatcat with quiet baffle.

It is a dealership not sure if all H-D dealerships use the same, but I will find out in a week or so. As for the SERT, he said no problem and has done several as well as he said this will be about the 20 SE he has done.  Not a lot but in a small town I think it is good. He did say he does tune each cylinder. As for the pipes I have gone with Bassani power curve for the true duals and V&H ovals for the cans as well as a high flow a/c from... I can't remember but it is just like the OEM but the k&n oiled style. Once all this is done it will be off to the dyno.  The dyno guy also mentioned something about the Thundermax for later vs. the power commander. I'll have to use the link from above to test the waters with the dyno guy. I'm hoping he will not let me down.

Ps. The weather has been nice here and I got her out today for a 20 minute putt. I also picked up the community trailer so I can get it over to my wrencher for the add ons then off to the dealership.

Sounds like a plan! I hope all goes well for you and you post some great numbers. Keep us posted as to your progress and I'm glad to hear about favorable the weather.
