Just curious how much the 107" conversion costs??
I have a stock 103" 2006 seultra with stage 1 done. vance and hines exhaust with power commander. i bought the bike used with 2500 miles and the bike was dynoed. The previous owner gave me the print out which showed 98 horspower and 100 ft pounds of tourqe if i remember correctly. it sounds high to me.. for only a stage 1. I will check the dyno sheet tonight to check.
More power is good!!!
Does sound high, check if it is SAE Corrected Dyno Chart, and also Dyno numbers can be manipulated. Most 103CI Stage 1 motors I have seen are about 78-85HP & 82-90TRQ.
If you decide to do the build:Discuss weight of bike, type of riding (1-up, 2-up) mountains, altitude, where you want your torque, etc..... with whoever does your build. Then have your crank runout checked, if within spec then no bottom end work needed!Even if crank is within spec I would go with the hydraulic cam conversion with new cams (Andrews or Woods conversion kits and cams are good) as opposed to gear drive, lifters and cam bearings, headwork (Street Port or Stage 2), boring your cylinders to 3.938" with 3.938" overbore pistons (gets you 107CI with your 4.375" current stroker crank), possibly higher flow injectors with stock throttle body, and a good Dyno Tune.
Now to answer your question, figure about $3500 - $4000 including all parts and labor from an independent shop. I see you are from Long Island, NY (I grew up in Queens). You might want to call Hillside Cycles and talk to them about the upgrade, they are a very good independent shop and have a good reputation. I would go with their total package recommendation so that everything works together as it should. They will port your heads as well! You can
use my suggestions as a guide to discuss with them, but again
go with their complete package. They are in Munnsville, NY
