Miami
« on: March 07, 2010, 09:30:03 PM »

Amigo Jorge invited me & a few others to Miami today. In attendance were: Jorge & Martha, Mike & Lisa, Stu & Lisa, Linda & I, and Joey Bones. Miker & I meet Stu down in Boca and then headed to Jorge's home. From there we went down to South Beach for a wonderful meal! As always a good time was had by all. A few pix starting with Stu's Pumkin:

I haven't been reading the board much as of late and missed that Kiki bought a FRX3! Nice ride.

We saw a total of six cruise ships line up waiting to head out to sea:

Martha kept pointing to the big "boats". We think she was trying to tell Jorge which one she wanted.  ;D ;D ;D

We finished lunch and parted ways. Mike & I headed up I95 and he exited down by Wellington. That's when the trouble started....

I realized that I was extremely low on fuel and needed to pull off. On the exit ramp, I felt the bike do something "weird" and just thought I had run out of fuel. Looked at the tach and the bike was still running so I rode into the station. Took on 5.2 gallons and drove off. About 100 feet later I realized something was really wrong. Made a U turn back to the station and found that I had a flat tire. Luckily, it happened here and not on the highway doing 75+. The tire had a cut in it and I had to call the dreaded tow truck!

The driver assured me he had done this before and I should have no worries:

I called the HOG hotline and the tow company was there quickly. My hats off to HOG.
We're all home safe & sound. Bike is in the garage. Being Sunday afternoon, the local dealership was closed so it'll have to wait until next week after I get back from a business trip.

I've never seen a bike picked up this way. Truly no damage?

Ride safely,

Palm Bch HD picked the bike up while I was out of town. They should have it done by Wednesday. They came over to the house on Saturday and loaded it on a real trailer and towed it, at no cost, to their shop. I removed the saddlebags to prevent any damage. I didn't want them getting scratched in the tow or loading.
