 Many of problems with the newer HDs start on the left side. Compensator,main shaft bearings,clutch problems. A majority I believe are related to the HD primary chain ratchet system. I believe if you ride it like its a moped the system will work fine. But if you crack it open to hear your exhaust and snap the throttle closed to hear them back off the chain ratchets up. In the end being so tight it will put excessive load on everything related to it or stuck inbetween two teeth. You will start to hear primary noises which HD will say are normal. Which they are for that system. I had a Hayden in the 80s with no problems. I have put one on my 2012 FLX. Not many mechanical things are perfect but the Hayden system is far better than what HD is putting in. These are just my thoughts on the subject. I am not a expert on much of anything.
