Just a status report here.  I am waiting for an appointment with an "expert" motorcycle inspector and the lawyer to try and find out what happened with my bike before my mishap.  I am still having breathing issues from the crash and will see yet another specialist tomorrow.  It really sucks with the snow we just had since I tried using the snowblower and ended up pulling something again in my shoulder starting it which now feels like I am getting stabbed in the back if I move the wrong way.  I a just getting tired of always being tired if I try exerting myself or talk to much especially at a loud place like a bar or something.  Hell I would kill to be able to enjoy a few beers but cant even do that at this point.  I know its only been a couple of months since the accident and maybe I should accept my limitations but I CANT DEAL WITH THE S*** MUCH MORE!!!!!  I went from being a physically fit person who could do most anything to a shell of my former self who can only do physical therapy without getting winded due to my breathing issues.  I hope we will get some answers to all of this at some point and I will keep you informed on the bike findings as they become available to me.   :sauer005:

EM,
Thanks for the update. Hang in there Bro I know it sucks to be down, and recovery seems like forever. Take it easy, do what the Doc's and Therapist's tell you, and do as much therapy as you can. Haven't had a traumatic accident as you have, but a couple of years ago I had a total hip replacement so I can relate to some of the things you are going through. There is light at the end of the tunnel, keep your head up, and remember each day will be better then the one you just went through.

EM, I'm sorry to hear of your crash and recovery problems. If you know of someone else who was experiencing this problem, plus having it reported a couple times from your dealer, sounds like you have a heck of a case and lawsuit! It could have been much worse!!! Thank God your here to talk about it. I have lifted you up in prayer and will continue to pray for you and your wife. God Bless ya Bro and Merry Christmas! Better days are ahead, hang in there! :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry to here about your accident. I hope you are able to determine exactly what happened. Take care and get better soon. Winter won't last forever and soon it will be time get back on and ride. Just take your time and keep up with the therapy.

Thanks all

I know I havent been around that much but I kind of had to vent a little.  I would be coming to the site more often but it just gets me down when I read about all the rides tech stuff etc and know I cant partake in it.  Everytime my buddies ride somewhere I feel left out because I cant join them.  Hopefully I will get some answer today from the latest specialist but I am not getting my hopes up at this point.  I will keep everyone informed on the bike and my recovery as slow as it may be. Ony good thing is that me and my wife can spend Xmas together I just wish I could go to our vacation house in PA but to tell you the truth at this point I am a little concerned about getting away from my doctor base since there is only one hospital near us in PA and it only has 98 beds.  They have like 1 or 2 doctors in each area at most compared to the hospital here which is a state trauma center and teaching hospital.

Patience my friend.....  a good solid recovery is far better than a rushed, half assed one

this will be done and done right and you will be back in the wind again and healthy

god speed for both of you!

We're all here for you.  Vent away.  Better to get it out than hold it in, we'd all be pissed off too, heck we are all pissed off it happedned to you or anyone.

Keep positive thoughts and try to be patient, it is a process, when I dumped a year and a half ago my wife and I were very fortunate.  But my knee and akle took 6-10 months to get back to normal even after only getting a good wrenching.

We'll keep sending you prayers for a speedy recovery.

Latest updates I am going back to the hospital next week to have a temporary Tracheotomy put back into my throat.  I am not happy about it but my breathing has continued to get worse due to vocal cord issues and my airway is down to around 10% of what they expect for me given my history before the accident. It appears that being intubated for three weeks caused damage to both of my vocal cords causing them to end up mostly closed.  they said that I was OK when I got out because my cords formed to the shape of the tube in my throat causing them to bow as they straightened out my air passage narrowed. When I speak they shut fully so I can eat and drink but I cant even walk down the corner without losing my breath.  If a talk to long I start wheezing.  All the doctors feel this is necessary to give me a viable airway until they can determine the extent of damage to my vocal cords. They are going to try manipulating them manually when I am sedated to see if scar tissue is the problem which is my best scenario.  If that doest appear to be the problem they are going to stick needles into my throat and try shocking my muscles to see if they move. Sound like fun huh? I know I haven't been here in a while again due to all of this but I said I would keep you all updated.  Inspector for lawyer is supposed to come in two weeks to start the examination of my bike so more will coming between my surgery and then.  The only good thing may be that once the trach is installed my doctors feel I will return to pretty much normal activity quite quickly.  hopefully that will mean I can ride this spring with the guys again even if I have to wear a cover over my neck to protect myself.  Wish me luck next week talk to you guys again soon
