Exactly, wing tip vortices as Twolane says!  Pilot talk.  Actually as I said it's strictly personal opinion on my part.  [smiley=soapbox.gif] With the spoiliers on both bags and the tour pak it looks to much like a Goldwing [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] And secondly I hate the thought of drilliing holes in a $33,000 motorcycle. :'(
Fly straight and level !  And ride that way too  [smiley=cherry.gif]

Was trying to figure a way to add more light to the Frontier.
We were riding in the mountains with Hubbard and Otis and I saw the answer.
Spoiler lights on the saddlebags.
While waiting to get the Frontier I went ahead and put them on the Classic.
***BIG NOTE,***
(Bill was right, don't tighten down to much or they will come thru the top)
I asked Thunder Mountain to install them on the Frontier.

Now does this look like the a$$ end of a Goldwing?(no comment from you Twolane  8-))

IMHO a side benefit is that they look good, the main reason I want them is increased visability. A friend of mine was just sitting at a stop light a couple of weeks ago when some dumb-ass lady was talking on her cell ran right up his butt. He was not hurt but the bike sure was. All she said was she could not see him. Which is why I just ordered the spoilers and got the bright yellow helmet. In fact as soon as I can find a revolving blue or red spotlight, I going to mount it on my head. ;D ;D ;D ;D
