Wards Parts Werks Cooling Fans
« on: January 28, 2014, 08:05:28 PM »

After researching and seeing the results from forum members here, I decided to give these cooling fans a try in order to solve my heating issues in stop and go traffic which caused by bike to go into safe mode several times. Jason at http://www.wardspartswerks.com has done a fantastic job designing and building these high quality fans. Installed them with Jason's thermal switch and a Performance Machine Chrome Merc Horn Cover. I'm tickled with the new look! Fired the bike up after install to make sure they cycled on properly with the thermal switch and baaammmmm they turned on after idling for a while (45 degree night) as my oil temp hit 115. These things move air like a turbocharged hair dryer! Can't wait to get some descent weather to test them out under normal riding conditions...especially a hot summer day.  :bananarock:

I have these on my 2013 CVO Road King and they are great I also had them on my 2011 RK. They work great and you will see the best results when in stop and go traffic or slower moving traffic.

They will help with the oil temp a little bit but are mainly designed to help with the Head Temps

Awesome! Do any of you guys run the thermal switch? If so, do you leave them running to keep cooling after you shut the bike down?

I leave them on. They will cycle on and off 3-4 times and then go off. I have not had a problem yet doing this.

I ran a set of them all last summer on my 103.  They work great.  No more fears about getting caught in stop and go traffic.  No more needing to shut the scooter off at long stop lights.  No more evil starting after a quick stop.  And most of all, no embarrassing thermal management mode.  The fans also greatly reduced the amount of detonation I experience in hot weather.  I highly recommend them.

here are mine with a custom mounting bracket for my Air horns. I have a 117ci and I am running them with the thermal switch, I also have fans behind the oil cooler on the aux switch for city traffic. "stoplights love me" I love them, put them on last summer. I leave mine on they cycle on and off a couple of time after shutting the bike off.

I need to get the thermal switch as well. I just turn them on and off but having the thermal switch would be great. On the to do list if I don't have to sell my bike.

I have them on my 11.5 SE6. I installed the optional thermal switch and they work great. The sound of the fans really gets peoples attention when they cycle on/off after you shut the bike down which sometimes leads to some interesting conversation.  I also installed the WPW160 thermostat for the oil cooler and the bike seems to like them both. The t'stat lowered my oil temp (according to the dipstick temp gauge) about 15-20 degrees - just like he claimed  :2vrolijk_21:.

Love the thermal switch - don't have to think about it.  When I shut the bike off, it will sometimes cycle the fans back on then off until the heads are cooled below the lower threshold of the temperature of the switch.  Not sure if others are experiencing the same thing, but in summer down here it is quite hot even in the mornings.  Get a lot of comments about them.
