Did anyone put thouse fans on S&S 124"? I have Jagg fan assisted oil cooler in staled, but the engine is still running hot, a specially when stop an' go (330 degree)!!

Something is wrong. Has it been tuned? I am running a Jim's 131 with a fan on the oil cooler as well as one behind the horn and we have run 2up and loaded 5 days in a row at about 103F all day long and mine never went over 255. Even when I had my 110 with all the problems it had early on the most I saw was 305. I think the Wards fans will help but 330 is way to high.

Thank you Rooster for reply. It is tuned i have PV and display attached to the Handlebar to monitor vital engine function. It was very hot day and stop and go for about 10 min. The  head temp. on the PV display was reading 165 deg. Celsius.
Normal operating temp. is betwean 210-235, but as soon as I stop on traffic light, it start to rise rapidly.
Maybee the oil temp. is much lower since thouse reading was from cylinder head???
Did you put both fans at same times or separately?

Both at the same time. If I were to do it over I would go with Jagg cooler with fans and Wards fan setup. together you should be ok. I thing maybe those were head temps rather than oil temp. :nixweiss: When mine was at 305 I had HUGE PINGING ISSUES.

Yes, this was cylinder head temp. No more PINGING with S&S. This engine is strong like Ox. Two up, full loaded, up hill, it goes like I'm solo. I'm very pleased with the performance. My Indy is telling me not to worry, but bad experience with 110" make me extra alert.
I think I'll go with Wards too, just to rest my mind.
Thanks,

Skipper

I ordered a set to try. As soon as hit traffic my bike goes into limp mode. It is worth a try.....

his oil cooler thermostat is worthwhile also. I installed one on my 11.5 CUSE6 and with the fans and the T'stat the bike hasn't gone into "limp" mode yet.

One thing to keep in mind is when your stuck in traffic and the fans kick on you'll fell the hot air hitting your right leg - when it bothers me, which is usually in the hot weather,  I just put my foot up on the highway pegs and let the airflow go under my leg.
