Nope, sidecar is just the hack; just the side car that mounts beside the bike.  The old 58 in this photo is an illustration.  The sweet servicar in the posts right before this one is a three wheel pre-trike Harley truck like thing.

The Servicars haven't been around for a long time.  It's not uncommon that someone hears the name and thinks sidecar.  I just happened to always have a thing for the Servicars.  Maybe someday I'll have one again.  Might be fun.  Not sure what for.  But might be fun.

Yup it is the humpback version -- I remember cops used to ride them when I was a kid -- parking meters etc.  I heard from reliable sources they are gonna be brought back as a CVO in 08....

Probably though the humpback with be leather covered and smaller to fit with the  CVO ultra tour packs methinks.....

Last year, the 07's rolled off the trucks the Monday after the dealer show.

They'll be in transit before that show even starts.

We have a plant here in KC...They made the SE V-Rods here.

<set parody on>

** press release HD 2008 models ****

Harley Davidson announces the following models to its line of Motorcycles:

VROD Family
Sportster Family
Softail Family
Touring Family

Many New Chrome Accessories and Clothing with Improved Zippers! (Not ECMs)

HD now encouraging its Dealers to build standard Buildings and sell for MSRP!  (note dealer service offering improvements scheduled for 2010 - see web site for details).

Pricing increases limited to 9% as we've been able to outsource most of our parts supply to China and eliminated all costs related to quality assurance!!!

Unfortunately, we've had to raise the price of the new CVO models 15% to cover the costs related to fixing paint problems in the '06 CVO lines and Head Gaskets in the 07 110 lines (note: we still won't utilize all chrome fasteners and the end user must still spend $5K on the bike to make sure you dont melt the engine and the operator's legs during normal operation).

The New CVO lines for 08 include:  the Screaming Eagle ServiBike - brought back so you can haul even more of your OL's chit (note mini-rack only support 5 lb of beauty products); the SECU3 - released just because we can and we make a hell of a lot of money off it; and the SERG because we are tired of hearing all the bitching about not selling one (oh by the way we still won't put a tour pack on it no matter how much people want it).

Please contact HD marketing for more details.

PS  HD Marketing regretfully announces the recall of the HD Toothpaste, HD Pet Food, and HD Coffee due to manufacturing problems identified by the US Govt and traced back to our Chinese   providers.  Please submit your unused product to your Local dealer and we will issue gift coupons to be used for future HD purchases.

*** end of press release *****

Excellent parody.

Evidently there is no truth to the rumors that Harley Dealers will charge $5 to park on their lots, per bike per hour, to all non-CVO riders.  CVO riders were to be charged $10 to park per hour, cuz the MoCo figures we have more money than sense.

This is esp. funny, 'cause when I was passing thru a noted Tenn. tourist village in the mtns. recently and needing to purchase some oil, I noted in my handy HD (HOG) touring map book that a HD Dealership was present.......so, found it right on the main drag.....mostly walking traffic, no parking on the street, but a parking lot beside the shop.  Well, pulled in to be met by a gate and a $5.00 fee to enter....BUT, no motorcycles allowed in the parking lot!  No where to park if you were on a bike.  Must have only been a T-shirt/souvenir shop.  Never found out, 'cause there was a indy shop a few blocks away that welcomed bikes.  Oh, the irony.  :o aaarrgh. :-\ >:(  spyder

Gratin-on-my-nerves-burg, no doubt.  A giant asphalt parking lot masquerading as a road paying homage to Dolly Parton nearby.  Indy shops know we need to park so we can buy stuff more important than t-shirts.

Biker shops with no parking for bikes, biker rallies that try to charge $10 to park bikes so we can buy semi-flat not cold beer for $5 per flimsy plastic cup.  I feel a rant a-brewing......  :soapbox:
