My local dealer confirmed no Road Glide for 2010...along with several other models. To costly to build the Glide, now competing the the Ultra Classic manufacturing costs. Although there's a strong demand for the product, profit as a percent of cost did not make since to build the Glide any longer. MY $0.02 donation...

dont sound right to me. if that was the case then up the price the RG riders would still buy them

remember all we saw was a memo saying no model FLTR
It did not say that or in any of it's possible configurations.
I am still thinking perhaps optimistically that they will produce a FLTRUC and FLTRUCSE4

Sorry but that doesn't hold water.  There is no way that is the basis of dropping the FLTR.   I am with the speculators that there will be a Tour Glide like RG for 2010.  I am also planning on getting one if they do that.

This has all gotten tedious.  So I went to the source.  That's right; Willie G's neighbor's brother's gardner's aunt (twice removed) as reported by her brother's grand nephew's home room teacher's pool boy.  Yeap, once again, straight from the pool boy.

2010 will see the following:

FLTRSE4 -- SE Road Glide
FLTRSERVICAR  -- Road Glide Trike
FLTRUBT -- Ugly Black Touring Road Glide
FLTRSFRA  -- Super Fly Red Amazing Red Glide

and

FLTGRGLT -- Road Glide Tour Glide Road Glide Like Thing

There you have it. Straight from the Pool Boy.  He's never let us down yet.

THe funny thing is HD does things that don't always make sense. Several years ago they dropped the Soft Tail Custom and replaced it with the Deuce. Fast forward a few years and now the Custom is back and the deuce is gone. I do not believe he Glide will be permantly laid to rest but think, like most, it will be brought back as the Tour Glide.

Well if the Road Glide is laid to rest for 2010, I am sure glad I have an 2009 :coolblue:.

I however just do not think it will be totally gone for 2010.  Either a Tour Glide or something.  Go in the back of most dealers and it seems the mechanics and sales people prefere the Road Glide.  Look at what most ride.

Either way, gone or not.  I sure am happy with my 09 SERG.

I believe you are right on target, 2010 Tour Glide. I heard this as well and I think it makes sense to offer the best touring bike Harley produces with more long distance storage options.

I think that everybody is reading too much into the dealers notice that the Road Glide is going away for the 2010 lineup. What I see being stated is the FLTR is going away (along with FLHT, FXSTB, FXCW, FXDL, XL883C), the dealers memo states nothing specifically about the FLTRSE that I have seen or heard. Another consideration is that a new Road Glide model is introduced in 2010, maybe as another Tour Glide. A new Road Glide model could include a tour-pak and lowers, same with the FLTRSE - we all seem likely to buy the tour-paks anyhow so why not offer it as stock. In addition, the FLTRSE is in high demand in 2009 so why get rid of a popular CVO model? The fact is that nobody knows and it is all speculation until the dealers meeting. I am sure that the dealer memo was sent out as a typical Harley marketing gimmick, meant to start discussions and hype and as usual, it is working.

Unfortunately many dealers have SERGs sitting on the floor and they're going to be getting another in May.  That's a whole bunch of unsold product sitting out there.  You may very well find that it's removed completely from the market for a couple of years to renew interest down the road.

Dealer told me today that they normally don't know anything, but this year they do know for sure that there will be no 2010 Road Glide or Electra Glide Standard, and they knew about color changes to be made for 2010.  Other than that, they think we'll see a water-cooled touring bike, but have no basis in fact to make that assumption.
