License Plate Frames??
« on: January 08, 2013, 10:39:53 PM »

I took off the ugly reflector.  While I was doing that I noticed that there's what looks like a one piece license plate holder and mounting piece for the plate illuminator.  I didn't realize how bad that thing looked until then!

What have you guys done about the license plate frame?  Is there a license plate frame / holder that will hide that ugly black plastic plate holder?

Thanks !!

- Bruce

+1 for the Yaffe mount.

Even better when it's painted!

Hey Bruce,

You might want to take a look at Kuryakyn Part # 9255 (formerly #9182)  See pic below.  It's a very clean look.  You can either mount the bracket as I did in this thread:  SERG AND CVO: VERY GOOD TO ME! NEXT? (See replies 39 - 41 and instructions, #57), or you can mount the frame itself directly to the fender for a flush mount.  See this thread:  Flush Mount Kuryakyn Licence Plate.  Good luck!

I did that one as a flush mount on the 09 CVO road glide.  Looked great, was a pain to install.  Requires drilling of fender or plate frame.

I did the Yaffe in Black on my skunk, looks great easier to install if you buy bolts 5mm longer than come with it.  Harder to change the plate but requires no drilling on the bike or plate frame.

Did the yaffe in chrome on my 13 CVO Road King.
