Zumo 660 integration to HK sound sysytem
« on: June 20, 2010, 09:02:30 PM »

Does anyone know if the Road Tech Zumo 660 on the Black CVO Ultra is integrated into the audio system like the NavTech built in system is? In other words will it play through the speakers and headsets without using the auxillary input on the front of the radio.
If it is integrated, can a 660 be integrated on an 08 CVO ultra? Is there a harness or a download to make this possible?

It will not... it has to be plugged into the Aux port on the radio. It is pre-wired as you can see in the pic below...

This connection has to be made to be able to hear the audio from the Zumo.

I'd like to rig my 08' CUSE3 like this too.  I'd like to get a better look at that mount.

Does anyone know if the Zumo can be just directly pluged into the 08' sound system and interupt and provide prompts?  I guess what I'm asking is the Zumo plug-n-play with the HD sound system?

You'll have to get a stereo patch cord and connect the Zumo to the Aux port on the radio... you'll only be able to get prompts when you have your radio selected to "Aux".

Surely there's a way to hotwire the Zumo 660 to interrupt into the audio stream regardless of audio source.  Somebody has done or theres a little black box I need to do it.

You can always purchase the Road Tech Navigation Interface Module from HD.  This is designed for 06 and later bikes with the HK radio system to allow the 660 and 665 to interface with the audio system.  The harness plugs into the back of the HK head unit.  It's $149 and might be what you're looking for.

That Nav Interface Module only works with Road Tech 660's or 665's.  Don't ask me how I know.

I think a 660 is what he's trying to wire in.   :nixweiss:

Yes, the 660.  I just want it to interrupt the audio when prompts come up.  Also I would like to take advantage of the 660's MP3 capabilities.

REDDEVIL,

Will this interface allow you to use the Bluetooh on the GPS with a cell phone.
Im running fullface helments and would like to be able to answer the phone through the headset.

It should not affect the use of the Bluetooth capabilities whatsoever and you should be able to hear your phone through the headsets.

Are you sure about that?  :nixweiss:  The Garmin 660 and Road Tech 660 are identical, except the color and the pre-loaded HD dealership database.  I would be surprised if the regular 660 didn't work.

For some reason there is something proprietary of the H-D Roadtech Zumo's that will only allow this integration to work with them.

It plugs in the back?  So it interrupts regardless of what you have coming through the speakers? (Say CD versus Aux port.) And you could use something else plugged into the aux port on the front?

I've got a HD 665 and want to intall in on the a '11 SESG so that I can put the head unit and the XM antenna in the truck for the winter. And want to be able to eventually use all the capabilities. I'm thinking HD Chrome mounting bracket on the left handlebar; XM antenna somehow removable on the right handlebar; and the navagation interface module in the back. Want to minimize the wires in the front. My dealer's guy doesn't seem to be familiar with all of this. Do I need the Nav Interface Module? What other advice does anyone have?

Thanks.

Okay, so on the website I see this:

Fits '06-later Touring models (except FLHXSE2) equipped with the Advanced Audio system and a Road Tech™ zumo 660 GPS Navigator P/N 92115-09 or Road Tech™ zumo 665 GPS Navigator P/N 76000014. '06-later FLHX, FLTR, FLTRX, and FLHTC models and those not equipped with Wiring Harness P/N 70169-06 require the separate purchase of Connector Kit P/N 69200033. Does not fit with Advanced Audio Hands Free Cell Phone Kit P/N 76408-06.

Anyone know why it doesn't work with the '11s?

Still need help with some of the above questions...

Looking for same kind of information/set up. Apparently Nav Interface Module will not work on FLHXSE2s. Must have something to do with Ipod. Want to move it from bike to truck.
