cruse control rolloff switch clamp

I am in the process of replacing throttle cables, and needed to remove the clamp on the neck of the frame, near where the cruse control roll off switch is located.  its a philips screw ...  came off fine,  but apparently there is a rubber gromit with threads on it, that dropped inside the frame.  how on earth did they get that thing inside the frame to begin with?

  Has anyone ever retrived this part? or even had it happen?  i had no idea it was there,  else i would have done a better job hanging on to it ...

any advise?

You will never find that again.. You can get it at the dealer or at most hardware stores like Ace or Home Depot..   Its called a "wellnut".  Take the screw with you to match it up..  Thats what I did.....   Twice.. :nixweiss:

funny, I have run wires through the upper clamp,  and the screw does not use "Wellnut".   It just screwed into threaded frame.   

Anyway,  thanks for the heads up,  wont waste any more time on retrevel.

the partr# for the wellnut is #5207    washer is #6047     screw is #933
