          Picking up the last SERG (S/B) from my dealer next week. I want to find out if the perminant tour pak mounts will work with the rear fender trim/ strut covers; of if I have to go with detachable mounts. I had an 01 SERG and only took my tour pak off to clean stuff. If I have to go detachable I will, but I prefer the perminant mounts.

          If you look at the SEUC board, you'll see that some of the Ultra riders convert from the permanent mounts to the detachable four point system for more convenience.  If you want to reverse engineer, that's where to read.  I have to think it will work.  You can probably get the parts from one of the guys who have done the conversion.

Your bike looks good w/o the tourpak. Best one of that color I have seen.

I went the permanent mount route with my 09 SERG. You can get the permanent rack for around $135.00 but you will also need to get new fender strut covers with the cutouts for the fixed mount. If i remember correctly it is around $160.00 for the pair, I went with the chrome.... because chrome goes with everything!

I went with the permanent mounts on my 03 SERK as well.  I just found a mount on ebay where someone bought an adjustable mount and had the original for sale.  I think mine came off of an Ultra.  I had to buy the bolts and shims from a dealer though.  I like it better.  The detachable just came off too easy.  Too easy to steal.
