I just got back from DC and Rolling Thunder and was talking to a guy who vows by lemon pledge on paint and windshield. Has anybody heard this before?

Lots of people have used it and swear by it. One friend of mine used it all the time but he also cleaned his windsheild with the scrubber at the gas stations. But his windsheild was awful.

My brother uses lemon pledge on his boat. He swears by it. His boat always looks good right after he wipes it down with the lemon pledge. The furniture polish seems to attract dust and causes it to stick.

I use it. Last weekend I was over at Docs and we had a chance to do side by side comparisons with Protectall. While Protectall seemed to leave things a tad more "slick" feeling, I really could not tell the difference. And yes, it does lift the dust off and away. And the bike smells lemony fresh too.

The guys from pledge need to invent a beer scented pledge for those of us that don't like the smell of lemons.

I carry the lemon Pledge wipes with me. They are great for cleaning the windshield! Get the bugs off quickly.

Only Lemon pledge works and be careful using it outdoors because it attracts Bees - this is from experience. I haven't used it on my Ultra, but used it on my Suzuki cruiser all the time.

In WW2 GI's use to use kerosene on equipment to keep it clean. Check out the MSDS for pledge and see what the ingredients are. We all know what petroleum does to plexiglass or lexan. That probably is why it would be good for removing fine scratches on your windshield.

Yea you can use Hydraulic Fluid on your tires to make them shine. It will also make your paint shine.

I use it ALL THE TIME! I will never leave for a trip w/o it.
Bugs don't stick.
Repels the dust.
Shines like you can't believe because it has carnuba in it...you can buy it for under $2 and i'd challenge it against the best stuff out there.

Been using it for years on ever part of the bike except the brakes. Removes dust and leaves a nice shine. Will remove bugs from windshields and paint with no damage. I have tried just about everything, but Pledge works as well or better then anything I have tried. I have seen the ingredients in pledge, and there are no petroleum distillates in it. It is safe for all finishes just look around the house and see what it is used on. I even use it to clean windows in the house. Good stuff and reasonable. Always have a can in the bike

I found this thread on another forum a couple a years back. Here's a rehash complete with a breakdown of the ingrediants in Pledge done by a chemical engineer. I've used it ever since with no problems and saved bunches of money.

I've always used Wizard products, but I am definitely going to give lemon pledge a try. If it works better, saves time, and costs less, you gotta love it.

Where have you guys been? I have been using it for years on my hotrod car and bass boat, also works on the bikes. Works really well for a quick touch-up, like when my grandson gets excited and puts his little greasy hand on the tank that Pop cleaned yesterday. Pledge and old cloth diaper and no worries!

Any of the Pledge scents works great. As said before works great on face shields and seems to eliminate some of the scratches. Brilliant shine on paint.

Well today I discovered tree sap (I think that's what it was) all over my right saddle bag lid. When I got home I thought long and hard about what to use to remove it. I didn't want to use Goof Off as I know that sometimes attacks paint and finishes. So I started with lighter fluid. It worked but not all that well. Then I moved to WD40. That was a little better but not by much, especially when it came to areas of large splatters. And the amount of force I was using to rub was concerning me about micro scratches (As if my 10 year old bike is a thing of beauty) Then I remembered I had a can of Pledge Multisurface Cleaner (It's in a blue can). BINGO!!!! That stuff took the sap right off no problem. Later I did the whole bike in Lemon Pledge to polish it up.

I am sold on Pledge products.

I used to use pledge all the time. Then I went to Clean and Shine. Then they changed the name to Multi. Very close to Pledge and still made by JWax.

I've worked in multiple bicycle shops over the years and have used Pledge on everything from a $25.00 Huffy to an $8,000 Santa Cruz bicycle. The stuff works. I've used it on the FXR4 with great results. If you've got access to an industrial supply company, you can use and get ZEP Sheen. The last couple bicycle shops I worked for used this as when you buy a case, it's considerably cheaper than each can of Pledge from the store. ZEP also makes a product called ZEP 45, a Teflon infused lubricant equivalent to Tri-Flow at half the cost. Works great for lubing cables, shifter linkages, etc.
