Great looking bike Greg. I especially appreciate the price break down. It's good to have an idea how the US prices compare the Canadian prices. Heavy breather- $380, SERT $600, Dyno $500 (min charge) . Guess I'll be planning a shopping trip south of the border

Greg, I see that you provided pictures of the right side of the bike but no left side?
Here's a few left side suggestions to help spend your hard earned $$$:
Chrome Inner Primary
Chrome Screamin Eagle Shift Linkage
Chrome Tour Pak Brackets
Magnum Sterling Chromite II Ingnition Cables (Braided SS Spark Plug Cables)

Other cool parts:
Covington Billet Speaker Covers
Tour-Pak Spoiler
Saddlebag Spoilers

Don't forget the small parts either...
Chrome Switch Housing Hardware Kit
Chrome Timer Cover Screw Kit
Chrome Lifter/Tappet Block Hardware Kit
Chrome Rocker Box Hardware Kit
Chrome Cam Cover Hardware Kit
Chrome Primary Cover Hardware Kit
Chrome Transmission Hardware Kit

For additional comfort if you have to reach for the handlebars or experience any discomfort in your fingers, arms, shoulder blades or lower back:
Wild1 Chubby Handlebars - I put on the WO517's and they made a huge difference in riding comfort. No new cables needed, but the clutch cable needs to be re-routed. I am not sure what other handlebars can be installed without changing cables. If you had to change 1 cable (clutch or brake), you would most likely have to change the other so the cables would match.

LED's are a matter of subjective opinions, but I think they look great:
Boogie Lights Amber LED's

Do you have to make the contract for the " Extended warranty  998 " when you buy it and how long does this warranty runs ?
What is this " Titan Amp. 450 " and this " the HW price " ?
and the " Polk Audio Speakers  80 " and
" radio Shack " and
" Tune Trapper Antenna 40 " ( where can i find this antenna on your pic ? ),
The " Lindby Engine Guard 325 " looks great ( didn`t know that vendor yet )
The " Kuryakyn LED front signals 109 " ( what is the advantage of these ? )
and what is " G-W Chrome Fasteners 130 " ?
Would you please explain  to me that I am possible to decide about my modifications for the SERG .
Sooo many things to learn here  8)
Give me all your infos please : more more more .
 ;D
Perhaps in someday in the future i will know as much as you know ,
I hope so .  :D

Thanks to all for the comments and great ideas!!

Silver-Black,   A trailer is a must.  I love to ride but sometimes towing is better (e.g.,  the 10 from L.A. to Phoenix).  Have a Kendon two rail.  Very convenient!  Sometimes wish it were enclosed, though.

Bribe36,  In the US, there are a few dealers who offer 20% off HD parts and google shopping helps you find just about anything.  I don't know about sales to Canada, eh?

JP, Brave to ride in 30* weather!  Congratulations on the new SERG!!  Sounds like it's Gerbings heated clothing for Christmas!!

Banana man and Dave,  You're right!  I like what Jim Kerr did with a light under the tour pak.  So, that may be in the works.  Love that bright yellow!    :huepfenjump3:

Guilty,  Now here's a guy who could break me!  In the G-W set (Gardener-Westcott) for about $130 you get nearly all the chrome fasteners in one set.  Had the Chrome Saddlebag Lid Trim Kit  HD#53878-03 on my 04 RG and liked them.  The Chrome Inner Primary, Chrome Screamin Eagle Shift Linkage and Braided SS Spark Plug Cables are great ideas.  I know the Primary is a pain to install and I don't want to do a cover....  I installed the Chrome Tour Pak Brackets and do like them.  What's not to like?  The stock handlebars work great for me but you've got me thinking!

Highjagger, Let's see if I can cover this:

Do you have to make the contract for the " Extended warranty  998 " when you buy it and how long does this warranty runs ?  As I understand, you need to get the extended warranty before the factory warranty expires.  You do not have to get it from your original dealer.  I'm not sure how this works in Germany.

What is this " Titan Amp. 450 " and this " the HW price " ?
and the " Polk Audio Speakers  80 " and  Check out hellsfoundry.com and look at their audio upgrades.  That's where I found the system but they simply buy the amp and speakers so I internet shopped for a better price.

" radio Shack " and   This is a chain of electronics stores here in the US.  I'm sure you have something similar.

" Tune Trapper Antenna 40 " ( where can i find this antenna on your pic ? ),  The tune trapper is an antenna that fits inside the fairing.  I'm not very happy with the reception.  Kuryakyn carries it  kuryakyn.com.  You might want to try the one that comes from Dakota Digital.

The " Lindby Engine Guard 325 " looks great    Thanks!  See here:  www.lindbycustom.com  They just came out with a set to fit the 2009's

The " Kuryakyn LED front signals 109 " ( what is the advantage of these ? )  Much brighter that stock light bulbs for running lights and match the rear LED"S

and what is " G-W Chrome Fasteners 130 " ?  "G-W" is Gardener-Wescott.   They have a new kit for the 09 Touring Bikes #GW-72-A.  Make sure this is for the 09 as the motor mount fasteners have changed. I'm also not sure about the transmission cover bolts but am working on that.

Hope this helps!!

Greg,

The bike looks spectacular.  You're clearly an early adopter, an overachiever, and a bit of a perfectionist from what I can tell. (all very dangerous traits when it comes to your bank account).  Incidentally, I noticed that you didn't bother to do a grand total on your summary of costs.  Good strategy.  I'm sure that wasn't an accident.  I try to avoid thinking about that number for my bike as well.

Nice start Greg! We all know these things are never done, one of the reasons we're hooked. But isn't if fun to add each new dodad and stand back and look for a while, then go out and ride some, then come back and stare a little more - then repeat!

Time and money - if you have more of one, you can usually get by with less of the other.

Yup
I remember when I used to chuckle when I was told that the bike is the cheapest part of the investment. That was ok when I bought the Sporty or the Fatboy.
Makes you want to wet your pants when I think that statement may also be true for the SERG---I told the wife the that the whole purpose of buying the CVO was that it was a finished bike :stars:
Must be a Harley thing because I don't remember seeing anyone buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini and "Junkin the powerplant in favor of more power or more chrome " :2vrolijk_21:

Silver-Black, Sent you a PM.  Love your garage, not to mention your posts!  That's a high bar.

Highjagger,   Keep us posted on your progress!  Love to see HD's in Europe.  Want to ride there someday.  Good luck!

Sierramadre,   You're right.  I have a running  $$ total $$ in my head.  I bet a lot of us are frugal.... about other things.  But, what's the cost of your true love?

Buy early,  Time, money... life.  I like those floor board extenders.

rganz / Rob,  Usually, I call HD's $20K "starter kits."  Seems the SERG (and other CVO's) are just premium starter kits.  The Ferrari / Porsche / Lambo guys are almost as bad.

oj greene, The Kuryakyn LED front running lights are terrific!  I installed the 4825 Front L.E.D. Conversions - New Bullet (Smoke) $119.99.  Just make sure you read the on line instructions about installing the load equalizer and splice into the correct wires (under the seat).  They are bright enough that I've had cars pull over for me thinking I was LEO at night.  You'll have to experience that to believe it.  With the Xenonlink headlights, people sure see you coming!
