HD new adjustable center stand for touring models
« on: May 08, 2007, 01:34:09 PM »

This stand can be adjusted for standard height and profile lowered bikes.  Since I have one of each I thought I would give it a try. It is chromed and per the comments from HD will not effect clearance.   Anyone else try this product?  91573-06

Harley's old center stand has that limitation.  It mounts up front.  This new one mounts under the dog bone in the back so doesn't have that problem.

I ordered it through Chicago HD @ 20% off.  Given it's orientation to the rear of the frame it shouldn't interfer with anything.  Will post pictures and review after I try it out.

I did the Rivco a couple of years ago and I love it. The new HD model looks a little better but it seems to be an all chrome version of the Rivco. Probably is, anyway I really like mine. :2vrolijk_21:

Here is the Rivco: http://saturn.dnsprotect.com/~rivcopro/products/product.php?productid=393&cat=284&page=4

I chose the Harley over the Rivco because of the claimed adjustability of the Harley to accommodate bikes that are standard or lowered height.  Should be here in a week.

I'd be interested in its claim to not reduce ground clearance. ;)

How hard is it to pull up on the center stand? :nixweiss:

It doesn't with the Rivco and they look just alike. :2vrolijk_21:
I have the Ride St8, no problem.

I was going to put one on the SEEG but was told with the TruTrack it wouldn't work!

Measure twice cut once, inspection sounds like the order of the day.  Not sure I want one but I'll watch for some feedback if anyone gets it installed.

Doubt it would Chip.  It looks to mount like the Rivco center stand does; in the dog bone.  So the True Track would occupy the same space.  The Ride Str8 would coexist it as it doesn't mount in the dogbone though.

It states this in the description:  "The lifting lever is inconspicuously tucked away below the passenger footboard, and fits with all Harley-Davidson® Original Equipment and accessory footboard and exhaust configurations."  So are they saying it won't work with aftermarket exhausts? :nixweiss:
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,
