Too nice not to ride in Switzerland today

edically Retired, November 14, 2019 was last day I worked.  Went on Disability insurance in January 2020, then SSDI in June 2020.  Disability insurance lasts until I am 65, which is 6 years an 4 months.

Bad thing is, even though SS is going up, my income will not change as my insurance goes down the exact amount SSDI goes up.  If I choose to earn any money, my insurance goes down by what I earn.

So, yep I am retired.  Planned to work to 65, so maybe it's a good thing I was forced to retire.  I sure am enjoying it so far.
 Dave, I used to tell everyone that when I turned 55 I wanted to do something besides trucking. " gonna do sumtin differunt" I ended up with work related injury, couple of surgeries & on SSDI (have been since 2011. injury was in 2009) so I understand. enjoy what you have & make the most of it.

I can see you completely understand.  Things do not always go as planned.  All you can do is make the best out of the situation.  And as you say enjoy what you have.

Been riding the 19 CVO Road glide, rode 80 miles on Monday doing errands, was 44 degrees.  Rode 71 miles on Tuesday getting heart worm pills for the dog, 43 degrees.  Will ride the Pan America Home from the dealer today, 56 miles.

Yep, bought my outer pants, jacket liner and gloves in 2010.  Money very well spent.  Can ride comfortably down into the teens.

Took the first ride of 2022 this morning, wishing everyone a Happy new Year.

Installed HD #57000063 wind deflectors for buffeting when wearing Shoei modular helmet, takes care of that, there was no buffeting when wearing half helmet. I got them from the china connection for $20.22 to my door.

One end connects to a spot by the fuel tank.  The other attaches to the crash bar.   I like em on my 16..Stuart

Those deflectors came with my 15 RG. I tried with and without and could tell NO difference at all. They have been in the cabinet for last 5 years or so. Tried at sustained 60 mph & 70 mph, same day both with and without for a couple miles each. To each his own, I see no benefit. Initially I used them all the time, during love bug season one time my wife said "no way those things do anything, they are the only thing on bike without a hundred dead love-bugs", the deflectors were spotless.

Lets see, yesterday I took a short 120 mile ride on the CVO Road Glide.  I also installed a new primary cover to replace the 117 cover since its no longer a 117.  Took 7 months to get this after ordering.  Last few times I ordered it was 4 to 5 weeks.
