Good price on new '14 CVO Limited?
« on: March 13, 2015, 03:04:21 PM »

Last one available here in Germany with the ENCS folks that sell to military.  I was able to talk them down to $32,400 OTD, brand new.

Burgundy Red Limited.

Thoughts?

You mention Burgundy Red so it is the Burgundy Blaze and Typhoon Maroon scheme?  My thoughts are, I won't even answer the, is it a good price question, I have a really good feeling that you already know the answer to that question, I have a question for you though, do you have the bike yet, if not, why not?

Still a bit spendy and I'm more familiar with the standard street glide.  Though these CVO's retain pretty good value.

Is that in US $ ? If so then you already know it's a great price. As far as comparing a CVO Limited to a standard Street glide -- That is kind of an apples to oranges comparison between all the "extra" chrome on a CVO, bigger engine, factory custom paint... heck you know what I'm sayin'.

If you want it, and can afford it, you should go head and buy it -- He** you don't need my opinion or permission to do that  :huepfenlol2:

Thank you for your continued service  :2vrolijk_21:

USD.  How involved and costly would it be to make the tourpak detachable?

Check this thread; it's for a CVO RG Ultra, but it should be a very similar process.  You'll need to make sure the kit part number and wiring is for the new style (Rushed More) bike.  There may be other threads as well that deal with the 2014 Limited, but I couldn't find them easily and have to move on.

I agree with the post above.  At that price, you should already have the bike.  That is the same bike I have.  I had two SGs before it..a 2009 and a 2012 CVO SG.  Both were great bikes, but they don't compare to this one.  My only complaint with it was the air shocks, which are now hanging on the wall in my garage.

What did you replace the shocks with?

I am short at 29" inseam and 5'6".  The standard SG and CVO SG fit me great.  For this bike I am considering going with the low profile air shocks and the low profile front cartridges to lower the bike 1" overall plus go with a standard SG seat setup (use the plush one for long trips).

THis is all that is needed to detach the TP correct?

I have the 2014 CVO you are considering and did the detachable tour pak conversion.  I bought the 4 point dock, tour pak quick attach frame, curved license plate holder and hidden antenna. If you buy the detach kit you get saddle bag lights, license plate holder and an antenna kit all of which I did not like. This is a very easy conversion. I also added the HD custom seat.  Total cost including the seat about $1000.  Oh yeah that is a great price and thanks for your military service.

I assume I wouldn't have to use the saddle bag lights that come with the kit.

Was the 4 point docking kit bolt on?  Also, when you remove the stock seat what wiring for the heated seats did you have to move?

If you do not plan to use the saddlebag lights, goofy license plate holder and the antenna holder it is cheaper to buy the parts separately that you will use.  The antenna attachment in the kit will require you to remove or cut a hole in the saddle bag spacer.  The 4 point bolts on, there is currently a spacer that you remove and replace with the 4 point dock.  The wiring for the heated seats and tour pak are all quick disconnect and coil up under the seat.  You will want to replace the stock touring seat to a low profile seat to get the Street Glide look.  I can convert back to the Touring model in about 5 mins.

So the tourpak wiring already quick disconnects?

Is any functionality lost removing tour Pam such as saddle bag locks?

No functionality is lost, I had to cut a couple of cable ties to allow the saddlebag power lock cables to reach with the harness coiled up under the seat.
