Thanks for the heads up!
« on: August 31, 2013, 03:51:05 PM »

A lot of good info on this forum.  The vast majority of posts make me feel like it's just a matter of time until my 110 motor screws up on me.
I feel you have saved me from buying another.  That is why I just bought a new Street Glide Special vs. another CVO.
(I still have my Duracell- I'm still enjoying - so far!)

Thanks for the heads up.   :2vrolijk_21:

IMO,its better (& cheaper) to by a regular model & build the motor to what you want instead of buying a factory "hotrod"

Interesting comments from long time drinkers of the CVO kool aid!

I somewhat feel the same, from a financial perspective.  When I was still in the work force, it was easier to justify $40K to have the top of the line, with many features that were not easily available on standard models, whether you needed them or not.  I've loved both of my CVOs and don't regret getting them, but I guarantee they will be the last.  If I am still alive when it is time to trade the current one for a new bike, it will be one that I can get for an even trade, or just a few thousand on top of a trade.  By that time, the non-CVO Ultra/Limited will likely be a better, more refined bike than the one I am trading in, and it will cost me little out of pocket.

I went with a Limited in 2010 when the 103 was only on that one line. Just never got comfortable with the 110 with everything I was reading. Put a lot into the FLHTK but it's not quite that silver '09 CVO Ultra that I still admire. Will never know if I dodged the bullet, but I have a real nice Limited. 50th anniversary Electra Glide next year???      JoeS

How long has HD been making V-twins?
ALL of their stock bikes should be bullet proof with normal use and routine maintenance.
I understand that the EPA rules make them run too hot, but once you fix that problem they should run forever.
You really shouldn't need extended warranty plans.

Famous last words! I learned my lesson with my previous CVO.  Got the 7 year plan this time.  Small price to pay for peace of mind.
