MKW – welcome aboard, be safe at Kirkuk, and hurry back so you can enjoy all the adventures our wonderful country has to offer.   You've certainly come a long way from a wrench working on F-4’s to a physician. Thank you for your service.

I appreciate it.  I met some great people in the military and I'm sure I'll met jsut as many in this forum such as yourself.  Once I get back and take delivery of the new scoot I'll post pics of it and my current ride (not getting rid of the 2003 softail std 100yr anniv-lots of custom work!).  Ride often and ride safe.

Budmille – don't know about you but I knew the day I arrived my tour would be too short.  Sure enough 4 years later there were black heel marks all the way to the aircraft; I loved Panama and hated to leave. However, I did return for a 189 day TDY in 85 and everything had changed – gone was the Panama I knew and loved.
I agree, it WAS a wonderful tour.  I left in September of '79, one month before the treaty went into effect, transfering the canal operations back to Panama.  I've talked to quite a few ppl who have been there since then and all of them say it's not the same any more.
