Easy goes it Sailor.... Just so happens that the toughest/bravest branch of the military (USMC) needed someone to chauffeur them around and we picked the Navy. :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

We did overlap some. I was there 76-79.  Worked in the Weather Communications Center for 6 months, then the rest of the time at the Base Communications Center.

I've noticed a few references from those who have served in the military or local government.  So I thought I would start this thread.

I'm currently active duty in the Army, Medical Service Corps.  10.5 years.  I've worked in: San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO; Bosnia-Herzegovina; Seoul, Korea; Ft Campbell, KY (NW of Nashville); Kosovo; Lawrence, KS; Ft Stewart, GA; Baghdad, Iraq; and now Atlanta, GA.

Who knows, maybe we've crossed paths before.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Good day to all those who served and continue to.  I'm prior enlisted USAF who worked on F4's and then cross-trained into B52's as a Fire Control Operator.  Got my degree, went to SIU med school and now currently serving in Kirkuk Iraq as a physician as a major in the Army.  Seen duty during Desert Storm, Bagdad 2004-2005 and Kirkuk Iraq Jan 2009 to present.  Scheduled to begin my return back stateside here shortly.  I'm currently stationed in San Antonio and work at both Brooke Army Med Center and Wilford Hall.  My brother is retired USAF and now a Vegas metro police officer.  Guess wear my wife and I are taking our next motorocycle trip when I get back...................ah, the beer just taste better in Vegas  :drink:

MKW – welcome aboard, be safe at Kirkuk, and hurry back so you can enjoy all the adventures our wonderful country has to offer.   You've certainly come a long way from a wrench working on F-4’s to a physician. Thank you for your service.

Budmille – don't know about you but I knew the day I arrived my tour would be too short.  Sure enough 4 years later there were black heel marks all the way to the aircraft; I loved Panama and hated to leave. However, I did return for a 189 day TDY in 85 and everything had changed – gone was the Panama I knew and loved.
