As of 0800 today EST, baby Colby is awake and alert although still on the ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine- - - very similary to a heart/lung machine. Thanks to all for your prayers.

Colby is doing better every day. He is awake, alert and moving his little arms and legs some. They don't want him squirming around too much because he's still hooked to the ECMO machine but that is expected to be removed within a few days. Right now they are concentrating on ensuring that all of the Meconium that got into his lungs has been excised and that his lungs are clear and healthy. Once that's done, they'll unhook him from the ECMO and his Mommy and Daddy can hold him. That's been the hardest thing. Colby's Mom (Jillian) is like one of my . It's been heartbreaking for her not to be able to hold Colby. And I am sure Brandon her husband as well. Thanks everyone again.
