After doing more research, I wonder if what I am hearing is actually Ping/knock?  I ended up taking the rocker boxes off to look for contact with the rocker boxes, and I dont see any.  I also removed the lifters to have a look see.  They "look" ok, and what-not, but I guess they could be leaking off.  I am going to go ahead and order the GMR lifters in the morning, but since I have the boxes off, can I still just use the stock pushrods at this point?  I am thinking maybe cam bearings would be a better idea than pushrods if I didnt need them...Ideas?
I think once I get the lifters installed, I will see if the noise is gone, and if not, I will unplug the fuel manager and see if I still get ping in that same RPM range....
Thanks.>
