Originally when I bought my DD6 the recommendation from Baker was Red Line shock proof heavy there was also a list of alternative oils quaker state etc. On my New DD7 they recommend Spectro 6 speed tranny oil again there is an alternative list the baker instructions you can download from their site for the list.

Maybe ask Bert Baker?

I drove 10 hours round trip to his place twice to drop it off for work and sat there over an hour or two both times. I asked to talk to him, and he never bothered to stick his head out. He's easy to reach when you're a prospect. Not so much when you need warranty work.

Anyway, mine had Spectro 75W250 originally but they said it was fine to go to Mobil1 75W140 Gear Fluid, as I couldn't find it local anywhere. I think I will try something else and see what happens, but I agree the oil shouldn't make much of a difference.

I think the only question that really remains is if there is a way to adjust the throw of the hydraulic clutch for a little more clearance. As mentioned, the brake fluid change did help about 50% of the issue, so If I can adjust it some how for a little more travel, that might do the trick?  I dunno. Transmissions are totally foreign to me.

Oh chit, I said I'd had my say and here I am again

One of the things you lose with a hydraulic clutch is the threaded bolt/nut on the clutch hub side that allows you to adjust the tension of the pushrod against the clutch ( basically the throw if you will) the threaded bolt/nut is replaced by a bearing that the rod from the slave in the left hand side cover pushes against. So the answer to your question is no.
I suppose you could possibly put a very thin shim in the side cover behind the slave that would add however many thousandths in thickness the shim is to the throw of the rod. Not sure if that's be a good idea or if it'd cause slippage because the clutch would not totally disengage (probably likely) This thread frustrates me and it's not even my motorcycle. Especially when I hear you say that Bert Baker would not give you the time of day. That just sucks.
