Hydraulic clutch cover
« on: February 29, 2016, 05:19:18 PM »

So I really would like to get this cover for my 2012 RG CVO, but when I emailed the company they were of no help.  I thought maybe someone here knows for sure.

Their reply

I am not sure.
We do not touch the CVO applications so I am not sure what cover to offer.
If I had to guess I would say to order the 2014 up style side cover but like I said it would be a guess.
Sorry I do not have a great answer.
We do not have a CVO book to look this part up.

Thank you,

There's no real detail in those links you posted, so your guess is as good as anyone's I suppose.  It's rather sad that the folks who make and sell the stuff don't know anything about the product.

The 2012 model CVO still used the old style trans side cover that was cast aluminum and included an integral slave cylinder (actuator).  The 2013 and later models changed to a different system with a three part deal; a separate trans side cover plate, a separate actuator, and then a plastic outer cover for cosmetics.  The one you linked to appears to be similar to the old style, except the connection for the hydraulic brake line appears to be at the rear rather than the stock setup with the connection at the front.  That would require a change to the line in addition to the new cover/actuator assembly.

In the overall scheme of things, anything can be done if you're willing to spend the time and money to do it.  I'd suggest you see if you can actually lay your hands on one of the actual parts to see what would be involved.

Its always a adventure with the after market stuff.. Line adapters long lines then finding the adapter for the line extension , or buy a complete new line .. Been down that road..
