Agreed, without it you have a huge gap and a bundle of wires.

I bought one. When it arrived I put it straight up for sale. Way to heavy. Finished up with a piece of Aluminium plate about 8mm thick, some countersunk socket head cap screws and made my own with three positions available. Had it powder coated when finished. Been on the bike now for nearly three years. Did the job fine.

Got the Kury relocator in and easy install.  Yes I think a high strength aluminum would be lighter.  Only moved Tour Pak bac an inch was all passenger felt was needed.  My passenger is fairly small.  The CVO flap that hangs down behind the seat still covers wires so don't feel the need to add a pad or go any further back.

Kury makes a filler pad that works fine. The one stripclub made does look better.
