Anybody tried Kurykyn Tour Pak Relocator
« on: May 12, 2016, 01:28:25 PM »

Thinking of trying the Kuryakyn Tour Pak Relocator bars to move the pack back 1-2 inches and give passenger a little more room on my 2015.  Anybody tried these?  They look like they may move tour-pak up a bit as well.  Look pretty easy to install.  Wish they were a heat treated aluminum instead of steel.  Heres the link:  http://www.kuryakyn.com/products/4605/relocator-kits

Have not tried the Kurykyn but I do have the George Anderson relocator  on my 2015. It is a nice piece and works well. George is also awesome to deal with. http://www.tourpaks.com/Relocator-for-the-HD-Tour-Pak_c17.htm

I had the Kuryakyn  relocator on my 04. I hated the cam lock screws that were suppost to lock the slide in position. They always came loose. I finally changed them to socket head screws  and used Loctite to hold them in. If they still use that same design I suggest looking at another brand.

I've got one and a friend has one also, neither have moved other than when we want them to.  Having said that, I haven't found a need to move mine more than once or twice over the last 6 years so maybe the lock screws loosen if you mess with it a lot. Pick either the Kury or the George Anderson version and your BSR will be much happier.

Don't think the one I'm interested in is adjustable without removing four bolts.  Its a fairly simple piece that simply offsets the mounting bolts. Kury also makes one that can be routinely adjusted but that is not what I'm after. I knew George Anderson plates were pretty highly thought of as well.  I'll consider that.

Had the George Anderson Relocator and in fact swapped that out for the Kuryakyn one you are looking at. Much Happier with the Kuryakyn set up as it gave us the distance we were looking for.

Hey Ron,

I've got the G/A relocator on my Ultra. Stop by and take a look at it if you want to.

Ron,

I installed the Kuryakyn Tour Pak Relocator bars six weeks ago on my CVO FLTRUSE 2015.

My Bride is very happy with the increased space, and the install was very easy.

It has held tight after 1500 miles and no problems.

It did create a open space in-between the seat and tour pak that was a bit much of a gap (for me) filled it with a quality foam and it was good to go.

Thanks,  I'll probably go that route as I can get it at a 15% dealer discount from Drag Spec.  Ends up being at or below the discount retailers. Probably only looking for 1-2 inches so either it or Anderson would work fine.

The kuryukian one is garbage IMO mine last about a year then it broke at the middle bolt hole.  Then I got one from George great guy great product he to my address and sent it the day we talked and told me to just put a check in the mail when I got a chance.  Had it on the bike since 2009 with no issues.

I had George Andersons product on my '09 and loved it, however it would not work on my 2015 so I ordered the updated version from George.

Much to my surprise it was designed completely different and moved the tour pack back farther than I wanted, leaving a big gap at the rear of the passenger seat. I spoke to George about it and he said that was normal and gladly allowed me to return it, always great customer service dealing with George!

I ended up with the Kury one, the unit designed for the rushmore bikes is simple and so far it works great.

This is exactly why I changed out the George Anderson one as well. The Gap was just to great and the Bride didn't feel comfortable or safe. The Kury one gives us the distance we want.

Yes the George Anderson kit does move it back around 3+ inches, but my girl is on the tall side with long legs and that was just what she needed to let her stretch out her legs, and eliminate knee ache's. I made a filler panel out of plywood, cut seat foam, and had my local upholstery shop match up the material, one bolt from underneath holds it place and it gives it the finished off look.

Better pic using better light, and it also hides all the factory wiring
