Ask the tech to measure everything, if enough is out of spec and I'll bet it is, you might get a new engine out of the deal. Have them install S&S lifters and ride. Around home, every tankful you should add about 6 oz of Seafoam to help with the carbon build up. Hope you get it worked out.

A healthy engine that is tuned correctly does not need Sea Foam.

. Very nicely done, you probably have 6 times the cooling capacity of a stock cooler.  What kind of temps do you see on hot days?
havnt got a oil temp gauge yet,but about 245-255 cylinder head temp

I know some people swear by Sea Foam but they only use a capful or two per tank. Never heard of six ounces. Seems like a lot.

Wow, that seems lower than most. Nice job. Who makes those?

Only if the breathers have been routed to the atmosphere. I have had several builds tuned by the best in the business, Doug Lofgren, Brian at Valley racing, & Doc, and if the breathers are stock (plumbed to the intake) then there will be carbon buildup, evidenced with a bore scope and at tear down.

SeaFoam is a petroleum based product, you can't add too much.

And surprise... Isopropanol - Isopropyl Alcohol
Naphtha is a solvent
Pale oil is essentially diesel fuel (oil)

None of these are good in a gas engine in larger quantities

I'm a MMO guy myself, only use it in the gas tank at suggested dose, 2oz per 5gal, it's cheap and I've seen an improvement in gas mileage at the least.  :drink:

Ethanol has the effect of stripping the protective layer of motor oil from the cylinder walls, so the addition of Sea Foam Motor Treatment to your fuel actually helps to combat this drying effect by adding upper cylinder lubrication that helps to prolong the life of your engine and its fuel system components. Additionally, Ethanol can absorb moisture and when ethanol reaches its saturation point can cause what is known as (phase separation) this is when the moisture and ethanol can separate from the gasoline causing drivability problems and potential engine damage. Sea Foam helps control moisture in fuel caused by condensation by breaking moisture into molecules and dispersing it throughout the fuel, if moisture can not pool or collect ethanol can not absorb the moisture and renders the moisture harmless. Dozens of riders I know use it regularly with no problems. Some pretty good wrenches recommend it.

I wasn't commenting on its theoretical effectiveness, it was in response to your comment "SeaFoam is a petroleum based product, you can't add too much."
But feel free to use as much as you like, I've seen little evidence that it does much good other than keeping the TB somewhat cleaner. It's also a product easily made at home

So you have used it for a long period of time? And made it at home?

make sure they measure the crank run-out will it is apart.  The harley spec is crazy (believe it is 0.012").  While I'm not engine builder, I would think any more than 0.05" is too much.

The 12 thousandths is with the crank installed, and includes stack-up from other parts.  The figure for "on the bench" is much less but forget what that figure is just now.

Not sayin' i'd be happy with 12 measured in the bike, but it mightn't be as bad as that sounds...
