I've seen cars "lowered" by heating up the springs with a torch enough to distort and relax the coils.  "Cool, bro."  :2vrolijk_21:

We put lowering blocks on our '11 Limiteds that the wife and I had.  They worked great and were perfectly in line with the shocks.  They worked great but eventually the air shocks start leaking so we put the SE lowered adjustable shocks on both bikes and put the lowering blocks on the shelf.

With our new SESG's we already have the same shocks so no need for the lowering blocks and even if we wanted to use them they don't work with the springs on the SE rear shocks (they hit the spring).

Since both pro-action shocks adjust instead of one on HD it sits a little lower on 12" shocks.

Like Jerry said, a 12" shock is a 12" shock. They may not know that you already have 12" shocks on your bike.

I put air ride shocks on my 2015 SG and they work great, well worth the 450.00 and only two hours to install myself. I thought about blocks first but everyone I've spoken to said they can crack to even breaking.

I put the blocks in my 08 Ultra. I bottomed out over some railroad tracks, and the seat bolt tore into a brand new Avon tire... so while I had it apart to replace the tire, I also put in shorter SG shocks. Lesson learned.  Should have spent the money on the right shocks the first time.  The short cut didn't save any money!

These lowing blocks were the only one our local dealer would sell, because they dropped the shocks straight down not at an angle. Only for use on air shocks not coil over HD premium shock.

Those are the ones we used on both our 2011 Limiteds.  They worked great and had no problem with fender/tire clearance or any wires or handling.  For a full size touring I would recommend them, but for a lowered bike like a Street Glide I would be concerned about clearance.

I let the dealer put a pair on my wife's Limited prior to leaving the dealership and after comparing both bikes, I bought a set and put them on mine also.  Easy to install and the bike rode great with them.  Of course after a couple of years the air shocks just leak way to much air so I changed the blocks and air shocks out for the SE lowered shocks.  When my wife's Limited started leaking fluid out of her right rear shock I did the same to her's.  I have both sets of blocks still, but the bikes got traded for our SESG's.

I wouldn't hesitate to use these blocks again, but I prefer the SE lowered shocks we replaced them with and of course our SESG's came with the SE lowered shocks stock.

The only reason I would even consider lowering a Harley is on a street glide or other bikes with 12" shock.  1" lowering blocks then swap out 12" shocks for 13". Should  put you back at factory height with more more travel in shock. Just my opinion.

The ONLY reason for considering lowering blocks or shorter shocks, etc. is to present a "cooler" look/image.  Has nothing what so ever to do with increasing handling, etc.

So, given the whole deal is strictly for "looks",  why not pony up for a compressor assisted air shock package.  That way,  you could ride the bike normally with full suspension travel and better handling,  then when you're stopped and want to (show boat),  you just hit your remote switch and lower the bike part way or all the way down where you want it. :nixweiss:
I agree here, even better is to add in the small air tank so it fills first and then you get close to instant up and down and don't have to wait for compressor to refill very slowly as most do.
