I was thinking of something more like this

I have this and the ones for the bags.  Looks good to me but I'm biased.  The 08 chrome luggage rack with the light is growing on me but not my cup of tea.  I like others want as much useable light from the rear as possible  but has to look good too.

The only downside of these lights is that they are not as bright as my Kuryakyn taillight or turnsignals.

The picture of the one on the bag, where do the wires go ? I couldn't find these on Harley website.

Do not know how the wiring is done, but suspect it is through the lid and out the inner side of the bag

Through the lid from outside to inside.  Then across the lid and down to the saddlebag.  Then inside the saddlebag running along its inboard side to a point you bring it back out and meet the feeding harness.  It's a thin little harness.

I'd vote yes for these...much nicer.  The other ones looked like trailer lights.

Just my .02
