Mrs. We,

I know for sure that H-D has had problems with the fuel gage on the 04 SEEG (dealer said).  I had mine repaired at the 1000 service.  It would stay at full forever then go to empty all at once.  The light would come on.  The problem is with the float/sensor in the tank rubbing against the side. Easy fix... they removed the fuel connection from the bottom of the tank and adjusted it.  This might not explain your light not working but probably in the same area.

That's exactly what my fuel guage does.  I figured that's just the way the guage worked.  Glad that you shared this, 'cause I'm going down to the dealer and ask for a "fix" as you described.  It would be great to have a fuel guage taking up space in that beautiful SEEG dash that actually as 'accurate'.  Now I'm excited.
