Hoist will not want the heated seat....that would make his bike too much like a SEUC (you know, a Geeeezerglide).  Just would not be a real motorcycle with all that stuff LOL  :) :D ;D :D ;D :D :)

Hey, I got a heated ass washer! Why wouldn't I want a heated seat? :nixweiss:

The seat's the last thing that'll make it feel like a FD! ::)

HEY!!!!

Don't forget to put some old socks over the spot lamps so you don't scratch the pretty paint.

I was worried about removing mine the first time, but thanks to posts like this it is a breeze.

I can rip it off in seconds now!

Given enough practice and the right amount of aggrevation and irritation it can go on and off in a big hurry.  Couple weeks ago my lighter socket fell apart back inside the fairing at the end of a very crappy day.  Had the fairing on and off the socket reassembled in 21 minutes flat and 77,856,249 curse words.

Awesome idea, I always used rags, the socks will work much better.  Thanks

Thanks for the comments on the sig picture. Was fooling around in Photoshop. I've got some others I'm playing with, but not finished.

As to the seat, I tried the suggestion about the Aux switch in the dash and when I turn on the switch, the light on the switch doesn't come on. So I'm guessing there's either a blown fuse or something wrong with the wiring. What is interesting or just a coincidence is that the switch for the power locks (which sits right next to the Aux switch) doesn't work either.

As to the garage door opener, I'll try the sync with the door's receiver, but my problem isn't with the receiver, but rather the transmitter in the faring.

Couple all that with a misaligned gasket between the inner and outer faring, also on the right side.

So here's a stupid question, how do you pull the outer faring? I'm amazingly coming up on my 1,000 mile service, so I'll probably just wait until then, but never hurts to learn how to turn a wrench on your own bike.

Thanks

Well turned out I had a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and the heated seats, Aux switch and power locks now work. Will try the GDO when I get home on Sunday. Not sure why the fuse blew though. Will see if it happens again.

There are two plugs in front of the battery box...one is wired to the Aux switch, the other is hot when the ignition is on, which should be the one connected to your seat.  A LOT of bikes have come with the seats plugged into the Aux harness.  I haven't seen a wiring diagram on the 08 to see what's tied to what, but make sure your seat is NOT on the Aux plug.  Just a suggestion... :nixweiss:

Not 100% sure all these are on the same circuit, but I think they all share the circuit lighter/power plug.  If so, and if the fuse blows again, that's always got to be a place to look.

Those housings can come apart either inner from outer or power terminal spade from inner.  It's also possible for the terminal spade and ground leg to contact if the spade gets bent.

Just a potential idea.....

Thanks, I do know that the lighter portion was jammed into the socket and I had to pull it out with a set of pliers. I'll have the stealer look at it when it goes in for service. They have to pull the fairing to look at the GDO transmitter anyway. I thought it would just be going in for warranty work....but have to do the 1000 mile service on it now. I just can't stay off the bike.
