Heated seat
« on: September 18, 2007, 10:30:51 PM »

Well my heated seat went out.  Has 12volts at the plug but no continuity in the seat.  They say it's not serviceable so they will have to order a new one if they can find a part #.

Bad News.  Sorry!

Still no problems with mine.  Seat still works - no engine noise - no oil leaks - and the oil temp was 212 degrees while out on a 100 mile riding Saturday.

I am thinking about going to a Corbin Seat when they come out with seats for the 08's.

Don't think mine works either. Bummer because it was one of the things my wife loved with the bike. Heated hand grips work though  :) I just need to add it to the list of minor issues / irritations that need work. Power lock switch on the 'dash' doesn't work, but fob does, Garage door opener doesn't sync...little stuff, but still an irritation.

You try fliping the aux switch on the dash?

My seat runs off the dash switch.

Just never seems to end.  Too many gizmos I guess, maybe I'll just go back to the stripped down DWG, with its carb and no electrical crap.

murphy,

It's not supposed to run off the aux circuit, there is a dedicated connector just for the seat.  See the tech tip posted here:

Guys, I hate to bust any bubbles but I have seen the same year model wired both ways, go figure. My 07 is wired thru the accessory switch for the seat but not the useless grips.

Was told recently the power lock switches were on a national backorder.  Hope the wait isn't a long one there.

One possible work around on the door opener.  Many modern openers use the same freqs and training method as the receiver supplied with the bike.  Just for grins try to sync the transmitter on the bike directly to your door opener rather than the supplied receiver.  It works on a lot of them and may give you one less thing to worry about.

I had a similar post regarding the heated seats.  As other members pointed out to me in April mine was wired through the AUX switch.  Flip it on and I bet it'll work great.  When on high you'll want to stop and throw water on it every 20 miles or so..... :cherry:
