Sounds like a good idea. We leave on the 30th July - arrive 1545 in Calgary the same day. Where do you propose I put the ride thread? I guess I will also be able to access it myself from hotel internet sites etc. and update accordingly.

Not long now.

In Ride Reports, you can start it and update when you can, and we can add comments and compromising pictures we take as you travel and meet up with people!  ;D

Excellent - I guess we have some compromising picture scenes to look forward to then  ;D

I'll start the thread this weekend as we are leaving on Monday morning to take the bikes down to Gatwick airport in London. Kind of makes me wonder if I should bring my laptop for updating purposes - hadn't planned on doing that though.

I wouldn't to much banging around, most hotels have a business center you can use, and you can use mine if your in the mood while here. Just bring the cable for you camera, I have two different ones, that should work, standard USB's, but you never know.

Who packs, crates the bikes?

OK - i will bring the USB cable along.

The bikes aren't crated, they get strapped to a special metal pallet which in turn has it's own location on the cargo deck of the plane. The pallet is then secured/locked down and hey presto - off we go. Only prep to do to the scoot is disconnect live lead to battery and tape up plus have less than one gallon of fuel in the tank.

And are you on the same plane?

If you were able to travel with your bike that would make life a lot easier.

I would love to someday be able to visit my daughter and future family in the UK with my bike, stay and visit for a day or 3 and then disappear on the bike for 2-3 weeks  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

We sure are on the same plane - get off in Calgary - collect the scoot and off we go  :)

I will and it does
