07CUSE Gone (but not forgotten)
« on: November 09, 2008, 01:24:20 PM »

After 27 months and 29,000 miles with a host of problems on my 07 CUSE (like I have never seen in my 48 years of riding), the MOCO finally made things right.  Thanks to standup support from my local dealer with the MOCO (tech line and the district service rep) and extensive negotiations on my part with both the district rep and customer relations, I came away with $30K trade-in on an 09 FLHX (at MSRP), and I got the 7yr extended warranty on the new bike at no cost.  It's taken some time, but I am now a satisfied customer.

Congratulations!  A brand new machine, a 2 year warranty, an extended service plan, and a healthy check bearing a Harley-Davidson dealership as the drawee.  That's awesome.   :2vrolijk_21:

I saw this earlier, excellent!  I believe I had mine a little longer (27 months) and maybe put on a few more miles (29K).  In any case, it's good to see the company responding to some of the more chronic problem bikes.  I could have opted for another SE but I'm a little gun shy on the 110.  Hopefully their problems are are a thing of the past.  I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Where are you located?
I just think this is so awesome........but way out of the ordinary for dealerships in my region.  Most of them shrug their shoulders and move on to the next sucker.......all the while frontin' like they're doing the world a favor by being in business.

Congratulations on the success.  Sounds like you had a serious lemon--must have been a "Monday-after-a-five-day-weekend" bike.

Did you have to use a "lemon law" to convince MoCo to make it right?

Yep......I knew you weren't close to me.  It's harder than Chinese arithmetic to get these southern stealers to fix stuff under warranty let alone get squared away like you did.

Never actually mentioned lemon law.  It's my understanding that once you threaten lemon law, they automatically stop negotiations and turn it over to legal.  They know what's going on and if all else fails, a customer can file for arbitration under the law without threatening the company.

That's fantastic!  None of the dealers in the Bay Area would stand behind their customers like that!  Out here it's "give me your money and shut up"!

Yessir.  Same here, but with the caveat "and get the f**k out of my way so I can take another sucker's money."
